First of all, thank you to Terri of Artful Afirmations and Patti of Fill My Cup With Beauty for becoming my two newest followers. I am always so thrilled when I see a new face or two! I truly appreciate all of you.

I posted a while back that I gave myself permission to not write, or think about writing my book...for however long it took to get back into The Zone. It has worked out really well. The self-imposed pressure was lifted. My other creative ideas began to creep back into my thoughts. It's been a nice, little "vacation" from writing!

Today, I woke up with the inkling that Today is Almost The Day! I think attending yesterday's weekly Coffee & Critique group had a lot to do with it. I didn't bring anything to read, but just being around my writer buddies and hearing their thoughts and ideas, caused my cooled-down writing desire to begin percolating again!

  2. Yay!Sometimes those writer brains are like little kids. You have to distract them before they'll do what you want. :)

  7. We all need a break now and again. Usually it helps to refuel our creativity. Good luck!

  8. It IS a great quote. It's true. Sometimes just being in the same room with a writer or two is all it takes. It's like all those writing ions are zipping around in the air, zinging into people, and charging up your battery so that you're eager to write again. (Can you tell I know nothing about science? Egads!)

The chili is spicy. The spaghetti sauce has sat and simmered and sat some more. The stew is bubbling. Your brain is back in gear...

  10. Oops wrong button...Sioux, for someone who doesn't know much about science you have a good grasp on ions. For example, during a thunderstorm the air ionizes and does this neat thing with electrical repulsion and attraction that we call a lightning strike. So with ions flying around there is literally "something in the air."

I am glad to hear you are back in gear Becky! Taking a step back is often the only way we can find what we are looking for.
