Hot Fun in the Summertime

My blog friend, Carol, at Under the Tiki Hut (which is an awesome blog, by the way!) is looking for guest bloggers this summer. I asked to be included, and Carol graciously said "yes." Please check out her post with the specifics and maybe YOU can be a Guest Blogger, too! (I'd like to be under a tiki hut somewhere right now!)

Speaking of something as lovely as a tiki hut, I'd like to share a little weather tidbit, since it's been such a Wacky Weather Year so far. We've been having record breaking, or near record breaking high temperatures here the past few days. I swore I would not complain about the heat and humidity, once it got here, after all the cold, yucky, rainy, dreary, cloudy, dark, disgusting, depressing weather we had for so long....AND I'M NOT! At least not out loud, anyway!!

One more thing about summertime and hot weather: I've changed my Play List to one of my Summer lists. Enjoy!

  1. Here in the Caribbean, we are having some wet, wet weather, but it's all good, 'cause I love rain!

  2. Okay, but let me complain for you! I hate this so soon in June (rhyming?)...no spring. My flowers are looking thirsty but yet the soil is slightly damp...just not time for this. Workers in Joplin need a break, not heat after rain and lightning! We are trying to paint the house and the paint dries before the brushing is done! Not to mention the misery of painting in sun. I think this ought to be emough complaining for the both of us! :)

  3. Hi Becky! Oh, what a good idea to change your play list to all summery songs!! I shall have to do that, then hopefully I will feel summery, even if it's a dull day outside (which it tends to be here in England during the so-called Summer!! :()

  4. Music is such a memory catcher, isn't it? I can hear a song that will instantly transport me back to the beach and my teen years of cooking myself.

Ah, summertime. And the living's easy. And hot. :-)

  5. And an earthquake to add into the mix. Strangeness.

Thanks for posting about the Tiki Hut guest bloggers. An update on availability: Two spots each in July and August, and one the last week of June are still available. Hope to see you there!

  6. Our summers are always excruciating. This year we also have a serious drought. Still, we make the best of it and pray for those who suffered with deadly storms.

    Take care Becky.

  7. It's hot here in Santa Fe too - feels like August not June. Plus we have all this smoke from the huge wildfire that is in Arizona and blowing all the way here. I can't even imagine what Route I-40 between AZ and NM looks and smells like. I am feeling homesick for New England greenery right now, though it's probably raining there! Hugs,
    Melissa

  8. That's a great idea for your play list. It made me think of one of my favorite summer songs: Ooh Boys (It's Hot) by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

  9. I didn't turn the air conditioning on until three days ago and now the house, while cool and comfortable, is so quiet as to seem unnatural! I got used to the windows being open and the outdoors being inside! Maybe I'll pay more attention to the computer now?

  10. Yes, it is miserably hot, but I will take this over miserably cold anytime. I love sunshine, sitting in the shade on my patio, eating dinner outside. While fall is my favorite season, I have waited way to long for summer. (I know it is supposed to be spring.)Summer makes me happy. Feel bad for those who have to wrok in it though.

  11. Hi JL! I didn't realize you're in the Caribbean! Even though you love rain, I hope you're also getting sunshine, too!

    Hey Bookie/Claudia! I understand....I feel your pain!

Hi Thisisme! I'm sorry to hear about your "dull" weather! Yes, maybe listening to my Playlist will help!

    Hi Cathy C! Yep...me, too!

Hi Carol! Neither my husband or I, or Vern the Dog, felt the earthquake! I'm a light sleeper, too! That's great that you have so many guest bloggers! I think I need to do that, too!

Hi Myrna! Yes, where you live, I doubt if I would venture out much. I'd have to enjoy just looking out the windows.

Hi Melissa! Oh, that's terrible about those fires and I can understand your longing for New England!

Hello Val! First, thanks for becoming my newest follower! And also, thanks for the song recommendation. I couldn't find that particular one at Playlist, but I found Jackie Blue!! It's number 64 on my list!

Hi Betty! You are one of the people I admire, who can take the heat and not turn the a/c on until way after I have! I like to crack the bedroom window open at night, to hear the crickets and other "outdoorsy" sounds!

Hi Linda! I agree! I think we're supposed to have more spring-like weather this weekend!

  12. I love summer because it gives me time to read. I'm really enjoying Michael Lee West's book, "Gone with a Handsomer Man!" I've got to get back to this right now and see how Coop's going to help Teeny.

    Thanks!
