* Writerly News *

Have you ever read ReadingWriters or The Verb ezine. I received an e-mail today from them stating that The Verb will come back sometime in 2012, but as Elizabeth Guy put it, it was time to let ReadingWriters go. If you've never read or heard of any of this, just click on the site.

Their contest is still open. It's called The Road of Eerie Writing Contest . Check out the link for that, too. Deadline is September 15th, midnight Pacific Time. Prize is $100.00

There are so many awesome contests right now that I'm trying to write for...and time is running out on some of them. If you haven't tried the The Bartleby Snopes Dialogue Only contest, you really should give it a try. I think it's the most unique and cool contest I've ever entered....mostly because they keep you so informed on your status!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I won't be posting until probably Monday, the 12th.

  3. Look who's gone and prettified her blog!

    I've enjoyed The Verb for years--sorry to see it go, but it sounds as if Elizabeth has big plans. And now I'm off to check out that dialogue contest. I LOVE dialogue!

  9. Thanks Becky for the info. I'm trying really hard to focus on my book, so I'm going to pass on contests for a while. That's hard to do because they do sound interesting!

  11. Hi Becky,
    I was disappointed to learn about The Verb, but from Elizabeth's e-mail it sounds like she's going to spend time writing her novel.

    And I echo Cathy C's comment that your blog is prettified.

  12. You changed the look of your blog. Wow! You've been a busy beaver.

    I'm busy with some WIPs, but thanks for the information.

  13. Becky, I'm thinking about maybe entering my short story about the wall, parts of which I used for SC's several times. Would the fact that i used snippits for posts disqualify me? I have written a lot more on it, but can whittle it down to 1000 words, I think. Also, do you have the exact address to send my story? I have changed servers, but MSN keeps popping up for some emails.

I'm still getting quite a few spam comments that are Anonymous, so I'm trying "User with Google Accounts." If anyone tries to comment that I know, and it won't let you, send me an email, okay? Thanks so much.
