* Hot Fun in the....Springtime *

Remember that fabulous song from 1969, Hot Fun in the Summertime, by Sly & The Family Stone? I've been singing it for days....in my mind.....and out loud! (My apologies to anyone who heard me.)

I am LOVING this weather and not taking it for granted. Who knows what kind of summer, fall, and winter awaits us. Friday I drove all around town with the top down on my PT Cruiser! FUN! (I have a silver one like the photos below....and it's paid for!) Yay!

Tomorrow a record high temp of 90° is predicted. I have to keep reminding myself that it is just the beginning of April!

I don't know if it's this glorious weather, or the Vitamin D I've been absorbing, but I'm very happy. I'm looking forward to waking up tomorrow and finding out what the day holds for me. It will definitely include as much outdoor time as possible, for me....and Vern!

Vern on our deck, keeping me company!

A funny thing happened on the way to 300 Followers....It changed again! (See yesterday's post.)
When I logged on to type this blog post, my number was down to 299! I thought....Sheesh, I seem to be going the wrong way, which I intended to mention here. THEN, while still doing this post, I hopped to another site or two, and when I came back...BAM....I'm back to 300! Thanks to Joanne at A Certain Book

So, welcome to my newest follower, Joanne! I hope you'll stop by often and always enjoy what you read and see! Thank you!

  1. Your dog is ADORABLE!

And, I'm totally jealous of your topless PT Cruiser. We're having remarkably warm weather here in Wisconsin, but alas, I don't have a topless vehicle... :)

  2. Hey Kelley, I forgot to say that this is the first convertible I've ever had. And I didn't grow up lusting over them, either. I DID love the PT Cruiser from the moment I first saw one, though. When I needed a "new" car a few years ago, mine was sitting right out front in a car dealership, it was used and had the right price...and voile'...I'm a convertible girl! :D

  3. Today was hot in Mexico! I'm enjoying the weather. I love the sun, it does lighten my mood. Congrats on 300 followers.

  4. Sounds like you had a good day. HOT here and lots of work outside. Trying to catch up....deck sealed and open...even a flower or two. Oh, and my follower numbers are jumping around too!

  5. Hey we used to have a silver PT cruiser! I loved it. Called it my little grocery getter. But sadly my husband yearned for something more "manly"...his words not mine. So bye bye PT Cruiser. Sigh...I miss it. Enjoy the sunshine!~Ames

  6. I used to love my cars that had sunroofs - I'd probably pee myself if I had a convertible! :)

Enjoy the day, Becky! Congrats on the 300th follower!

  7. We had our Cruiser for eleven years (it wasn't a convertible though) and just last year we gifted it to a young fellow in need of a dependable vehicle and moved on to Chrysler 200. The Cruiser was a ton of fun.
Our weather is supposed to improve this week.. maybe back to a light jacket again. woohoo.

  8. Happy Monday (or as I call it, Monkeyday) Becky! Our warm spell left us about a week ago - it was such a tease. Even so, you know its coming. As for the followers, I try not to take it personally when a flower leaves - I imagine they lost their email privileges, and once that happened they lost their "following" ability. Prior to coming to the conclusion, I would review my followers to try and figure out who it was that left. Eventually I realized how silly this was. ANYWAY, I'm here to stay - you are STUCK with me.

  9. Enjoy that warm weather and your convertible. It's turning sunny here, after a dreary weekend, but the unseasonably warm temperatures have vanished.

Just hearing it makes me smile.

  11. Lucky you! Have a fun day.

I know, mine was stuck at 106 even though I could see that I had 3 new followers.

    Still snowing here.

  12. Vern looks comfy! Our yellow Lab, Rigby, loves to be outdoors in the sun, and our black Lab, Penny, likes to be inside, but not alone...she wants Rigby with her. Consequently, she is always on the wrong side of the door! LOL Love your PT Cruiser. I have a sunroof and it has been open every day!

  13. BECKY ~
Thanks for the comment on my (now defunct) 'STUFFS' blog.

Odd you should mention 'Hot Fun In The Summertime' as I love that song! And... in one of my last two posts on the 'Ferret-Faced Fascist Friends' blog, I mentioned a cassette tape I made years ago of "sad" songs titled 'Innocence Lost'. The first song on Side 1 of that tape is Sly's 'Hot Fun In The Summertime'.

I know it's hard to imagine how anyone could think of that particular song as "sad", but then I truly am a strange duck. Plus, it's sad to me in a particular sort of way (remember the title of the tape is 'Innocence Lost'): it reminds me of great, carefree, Summer days that, as a "responsible" adult, I will never be able to experience again.

Does that make any sense? You get the "Innocence Lost" / "Sad" / "Hot Fun In The Summertime" connection now?

Anyway, thanks for stopping by to say "Bye" at 'STUFFS'.

  14. Vern must really be stylin' in that snappy PT Cruiser! I can just see him, sunglasses on, ears blowing in the breeze! Don't forget the sunscreen guys! I'm jealous!

  15. We have a sun roof, but sure wish I had a convertible, lucky you!

  16. I am so envious as I sit here watching it rain - as it's been doing all day. It's our spring break, and the weather is not supposed to turn until the break is over. Dang! Soak up some sun for me - and ride that happiness as far as it will take you.

  17. Now THAT reflects spring! Isn't it the best? (Does Vern wear a hat in the car?)
