* THE JOURNEY OF LIFE *

After reading a beautiful and inspiring post over at Julie's A Thought Grows, I decided to post mainly quotes today. My regular visitors know how much I love them: funny ones, serious ones, uplifting and inspiring ones.

Julie's blog post is about mountain climbing and writing.....and oh yes, I definitely agree they are similar!

"Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it." -- Greg Anderson

"Too often we are so preoccupied with the destination, we forget the journey." -- Unknown

"How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives." -- Annie Dillard

"The journey between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place." -- Barbara DeAngelis

"A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it." -- Jean de la Fontaine

"You should live every day like it's your last day because one day you're gonna be right." -- Ray Charles

It took me quite a few years to realize that life is about The Journey, and not The Destination

How about you? Do you have a favorite quote about life you'd like to share?

  10. That Ray Charles knew what he was talking about. I have always liked this quote by Barbara Bush, The former First Lady.

"I'll do anything you want, but I won't dye my hair, change my wardrobe, or lose weight." It agree with her. ; )

  18. Oh, I am also a big quote lover so I was glad to read the intro to your post! Some of these are new to me, I love them all. I especially love the Fontaine quote, that's a new one to me.

If I had to pick a favorite quote, I think it would be "It is never too late to be what you might have been" from George Eliot.

  21. My favorite quote is kind of a serious one:

First they came for the socialists,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

    Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.
