* Love Your Pet AND Your Friends! *

Happy Thursday, February 20th, 2014

I was having a hard time coming up with something interesting to write about today and then I remembered a site that always has unusual information to share:

I'm so glad I checked it out because, according to them, today is, among other things,  Love Your Pet Day, and International Friendship Week (Feb 16-22) TWO of my favorite things:

My beloved dog, Vern

is so special.

He is definitely loved,

and spoiled!! J

To have friends and to be a friend to others,
is an amazing gift in life, so hang on to them dearly!

I treasure all my friends, particularly those bloggie friends who I've never met, and most likely never will. We have such strong, magical connections.

Thank you all!

But you got to have friends
The feeling's oh, so strong
You got to have friends
To make that day last long
-- Bette Midler

God said, “I need somebody strong enough to pull sleds and find bombs, yet gentle enough to love babies and lead the blind. Somebody who will spend all day on a couch with a resting head and supportive eyes to lift the spirits of a broken heart.” So God made a dog. source

*Important Note: In my previous blog on February 17th, I inadvertently left out one of my blog tour stops! I'm so sorry! Sometime this April I will be featured on Juanita Nobles' blog. Juanita, I apologize! I'm looking forward to being on your blog, and I will add your blog asap to the list.

P.S. Is my new background showing up properly? Just wondering because no on has mentioned it yet!  I just love the new shabby + book design!

  2. Your new background is indeed showing up. And makes me itch to open those books.
Everyday is love your pet day here. When they are not sending my blood pressure soaring, they are such a calming influence. Much loved and much indulged. Despite the lies they tell about their underprivileged status.

    1. Hi EC! Glad the background shows up....and I'm with you, those books are just asking to be read, aren't they?? I'd start with Heidi, for sure. That was one of the first books I ever read! I'm glad your pets are loved and indulged, too!! :)

  9. Becky, your blog featured three of my favorite things! Dogs, friends, and "shabby chic" books (your new background looks awesome). Who could ask for more?

  10. The new background is beautiful! With all those wonderful old classics, it reminds me of the card you sent me for Christmas.

My Ginger Dog is the love of my life. Every day is Love Your Pet Day for her!!

Hope all is well in your little corner of the world!

    1. Hi Patti! So good to see your name and comment here! You're right about these books being similar to the Christmas card books! Vern is also the love of my life! :)
All is fine here in my little corner of this huge, vast world!

  11. I must celebrate this week because friends (like you) and my pets are def the light of my life.
(I'm viewing you from an ipad. Here the black background does not allow your blue title to show very well. The title is barely visible. But I like the effect overall.)

  13. Becky, I adore your new background. Why, just to sit and gaze a while is infinitely calming and makes me feel welcome.

Vern is such a handsome, winsome fella. Wish I could reach into my monitor and squeeze those cute ears!

    Have a great new week!

    1. Hi Myra! Wow! You definitely do adore my new background! And I hadn't thought of it the way you describe, but it works that way for me, too. And Vern thanks you with a big shake of his tail and a few kisses!
