* WHAT MAKES ME HAPPY *

The Ronald realized a long time ago that I am very easy to please, which is something I'd already known for years! We talk about it off and on in an abstract kind of way; wondering why some people behave the way they do.

Are we just born with certain traits or do we learn them? What exactly do we inherit from our parents and other ancestors?

I like to believe that my way of looking at life is a combination: I was born with some happy characteristics and I also learned by example. In my very young years, I was a bliss child. There was lots of happiness and smiles, laughter and love, and a general feeling of security and contentment in my home.

Taking these photos gave me great joy which continues every time I look at them.

I took this yesterday while driving to my chiropractor's office.

This is in his parking lot.
There were tons of gorgeous clouds, but I just couldn't get the right views.
So many were big, fluffy cotton-ball-like .....
and others were dark.

My old shell chimes hanging under our patio umbrella.

Vern lifting his paw. See him smiling at me!

Vern and his water cup at Sonic.

I took him there for an ice cream treat because
he had a traumatic time getting his nails clipped. Aww...

Double rainbow!

This one was taken from inside my car.

This one from outside my car.
I wanted to show how high the rainbow was
when it began to curve.

* P.S. June 25th: Susan, at Writing Straight from the Heart, surprised me by posting her interview with me! Please stop by if you're not tired of reading about my memoir. There's also a photo of Vern, so that's a perk! :)

It also gives me pleasure to smile and offer my help to others. So many people go through life in a kind of fog, and don't even notice the beauty around them. Am I saying that I'm always cheerful and exuberant? Gosh, no! But, how about 90% of the time? I'd say Yes!

  1. Hi Becky,
Very uplifting post and pics on clouds, no pun intended. Vern is sweet...our Caesar doesn't like his nails clipped either. And those rainbows? Wow... almost seems they were meant for you! Smart cookie to keep your camera with you. I must order you memoir! -Vickie

    1. Hi Vickie~ Thanks! I have to say that I'm NOT smart to keep my camera with me. I take almost all my pics now with my cell phone, because THAT I usually do have with me! I can't begin to count how many amazing photos I've missed over the years because I didn't have my camera.

  2. What a wonderful way to be! Not only is it good for your own health, but it is good for those who come into contact with you to be touched by positivity, rather than negativity.

I love your photos. The rainbows are beautiful, and Vern's sweet face is always a joy to look upon.

    Blessings,
    Patti

  4. Yeah, very often I too am pleased by simple things.

Sometimes though a little Jack Daniel's helps set the mood.

    1. Hey Val ~ The clouds were amazing again today, but I didn't get a chance to take any photos. And what's really funny is that both yesterday and today, I saw, very clearly, certain faces, animals, etc. in those clouds....and I haven't done that in years, even though I'm always a Cloud Watcher-Starer! And yep, rainbows are so cool..and Vern is a love bug!

  6. I'd way rather be around a positive person than a negative one. You certainly have the right attitude. However, I must insert a safety message here...please, no photography while driving! LOL

    1. Hi Pat! I agree. Being around negative, crabby, complaining people is the worst! And yes....I know I shouldn't drive and take photos! BUT, the only one I took was out the front windshield, so I was seeing ahead of me! Does that get me off the hook?!

  13. I didn't know I actually had a purpose for being on this earth but rather thought I was just a random event. Food for thought there.
I wonder if a double rainbow means there will be two pots of gold to search for?
Everyday things are so special and we often ignore them looking for bigger and better things which, when you think of it, often don't last anyway.
