* POOR VERN IS LOOKING SAD & WORRIED *

HEY, MOM AND DAD - PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO TAKE ME, TOO, WHEN YOU MOVE INTO YOUR NEW CONDO!

Poor Vern! He knows something is going on, and in fact probably remembers the same kinds of things happening two years ago when we moved from our house into this townhouse. Now, we're packing and getting ready to move again, into a darling little condo with a lakeside view.... and I swear, we are NOT moving again!

(I swear I did NOT coax him to do this. He just crawled into the packing paper and stayed there for quite a long time. He looks just too pitiful, doesn't he? Don't worry, though, The Ronald and I have been giving him heaps of love and telling him that he's definitely coming with us!)

Note: I just realized that four years ago TODAY, March 12th, we adopted Vern!! I knew it was sometime in March, but I swear I did not know what day until just now when I looked it up! What a wonderful gift he's been to us; so lovable and sweet.

I'll post more info about our move as soon as I can.

  1. Moving is never fun and Vern knows this. It sounds like you're really happy about your new location. I hope you love it.

  2. He just needs reassurance that you are all still going to be together.

  4. Dogs and cats always know when something is up. Our dogs get all antsy the second the suitcases come down from the attic. Vern is adorable. He may be feeling some of your stress, but he know you love him. :)

  5. Poor Vern. Poor you. Moving is a major stressor.
Your new condo sounds wonderful though.

  7. Animals are so sensitive to what is going on around them and I can understand Vern looking just a little concerned right now. I am sure he is confident you will take him with you but pets that have had to find new homes in the past always feel less confident than those we've had since they were tiny.
Hoping the move is stress free and you will all be very happy in your new home.
We have lived were we are in our little suburban cottage for 41 years and, being in our eighties, I truly dread the thought of ever having to pack up and leave.

  8. Vern will settle in again, and you will be unpacking before you know it.

  9. Animals are so adaptable. May we humans be equally so. Good luck on your move, Becky.

  10. Your dog is lucky to have such loving owners. :) I love dogs. I had a dog when I was a kid, and I still love her even though she passed away due to old age. I wish I could have one in my building now, but my landlord doesn't allow them; I think he should get rid of all the loud, messy tenants and let lovable dogs live here instead (with owners like me to take care of them), because at least the dogs would be easier to live with.

  11. Maybe Vern needs his own box to settle into so he knows he's one of the valuables you're taking to the new place?

  12. Sweet little Vern; I think he will adjust quickly to the move and his new home. It is harder for Mom and Dad, and lots of work.

  13. Thanks to everyone for all your kind words! I truly appreciate y'all taking the time to stop and leave a comment. Some day.....after I'm all moved in, and settled in....I hope to get back into my blogging life again....But that's a lot of "whens" that need to happen! :-)

  14. Becky, I'm sure that Vern knows you would never leave him behind. If I were The Ronald, I'd be curled up in the packing materials. (smile) Good luck in the new digs.
