* MARCH COMES IN LIKE A LION *

March definitely came in like a Lion in my part of the world.
Cold and blustery winds almost blew me across the parking lot at work this morning!
(I think if I would've had an umbrella, I would've been lifted up into the air for a while...just like Mary Poppins...one of my favorite fictional characters!)

So, as the saying goes, I'm hoping that March goes out like a Lamb,
just like this adorable, sweet little Lamb!

Every year when March rolls around, I think of the kite-flying days of my childhood. I always loved flying kites, even when mine got lost in the wind after the string ran out! And to this day, you may drive by a wide open space and see me standing out there, having the time of my life, flying a kite!

Hmm, and speaking of Mary Poppins (up above) there's also a song in the movie that I obviously love, "Let's Go Fly a Kite."

** I TOOK OUT THE YOU TUBE OF "LET'S GO FLY A KITE" BECAUSE IT SEEMED TO BE MESSING UP MY BLOG IN CERTAIN AREAS. **

What about your part of the world? Lion or Lamb? Did you like to fly kites when you were young? Do you still get out there and experience the joy of kite flying, no matter what your age?

  1. March has come in like a dragon. She is breathing fire, and I wish she would ease off.
And yes to kites. I love watching them. And flying them. And it is too long since I have.

  2. Lamb here too, Becky. And the winter was mild which was not what was predicted at all. Makes me wonder what the late spring will be like. I take snow over turbulence...but guess really I take what comes!!!

  3. I was going to say the only way we know it is March is by looking at the calendar, because so far it is exactly like February, but EC has a good point. We are hot here, far too hot. So March is a dragon.
I like kites, I've never flown any, but love the kite festival down at the beach every year.

    1. Oh a kite festival would be wonderful! I'm sure there's at least one of those around here somewhere, and if I find one, I must try to get there. Maybe you'll fly a kite, too, now...and think of me when you do!

  4. In Perth we are fortunate that Perth came in more like a lamb. a little cooler than our very hot February although it would seem we have more heat lurking.
My son used to fly kites and it was more my job to untangle the string for him. Hubby used to help with the flying side.

    1. Mimsie, I hope your weather gets much more pleasant very soon. And I hope you, too, will fly a kite sometime! I say, you're never too old to do that!

  5. March here has been like Spring. Trees are coming alive and the weather is warm and pleasant. The winds will probably start soon, but for now I'm enjoying the calm.

    1. Hi Myrna! We've had lovely weather the past few days, warm and a bit windy. We were supposed to be getting deluged with rain but it seems that the prognosticators were wrong...again! Yay!

  7. Definitely lion territory around here too. Kites? Not so much anymore, but I still have the one we used to fly with the kids when they were small. Maybe when grandkids start appearing we'll bring it out again, or treat ourselves to a new one.

It's great to begin coming back to blogging, and seeing YOU, too! I laughed at your compliment about my selfie....I've taken tons more that just look ridiculous. I just don't get it! :)

  9. I can't remember the last time I flew a kite. Probably not since my kids were little.
