This evening, while scrolling through the list of blogs I follow, I found "Pay It Forward" on The Wright Stuff. What a wonderful idea!
~The Rules~
ME: I will create something handmade to send to the First Five People who leave a comment on this post saying they would like to participate!
YOU: To play along you must be willing to repost this and do the same, offering something handmade to five other people. (At this part of The Rules, it didn't say the five people must be the first five to leave a comment on your blog, but that seems to be the thing to do.)
ME: So, I left a comment on The Wright Stuff and if I'm correct, I was the fifth person! Yay! That means I'll get something homemade from her!
YOU & ME, BOTH: All handmade "gifts" will be sent sometime in 2011. Mine will be sent by the end of February...or else I'll forget! ☺
Here's how she describes herself in her Profile: "I am a writer, an artist and a dreamer. I am on a journey following my heart. It promises to take me to some incredibly exciting places. Won't you join me?"
Wow! Sounds like my kind of person!.....Except for that artist part....me...not so much!
So what about you? Would you like to share your creativity with a few others? If you're not artistic (see above!) you could send a handwritten poem or a handmade greeting card. I think it sounds like a wonderful, giving idea!
I was involved in a different Pay It Forward adventure a month or so ago, but I didn't blog about it because I didn't want it to look like I was bragging...but then something really cool happened a week ago...and I decided to share it. BUT, that will have to wait for another day, because this post is just about this particular giving of your time and talent to make someone else smile. Kind of a random act of kindness....which I so love....even if it's just to smile at a stranger in the grocery store....ya know?

Becky, I'll 'Pay It Forward', too! I'm not sure if I'm in the top five, but if I am you can count me in. :) (Not sure what I'd make though... Maybe an original poem? And sign it???)
ReplyDeleteI have a question with no right or wrong answer Becky, and it is kind of like TK's ... would my photographs count as handmade? I make other things, but I am just wondering.
ReplyDelete:>) Have a great weekend!
This sounds like so much fun, Becky, I'd love to participate (if I'm not too late in commenting; and of course you should keep it very simple as I'm so far away) :)
ReplyDeleteI'll post about this next week and see who I'll be sending something handmade to. This fits so well with the Love Project I'm keeping up with :)
Huge hugs darling!
I am in, if I amongst the top 5...
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteUnfortunaately, I cannot play "play it forward"...but
I wanted to make a comment to you.
The new design rocks on your blog. And I adore your old profile picture...it always makes me smile!

I just found your blog today!!! This is so creative and fun!!!! I love the idea of putting my true ability to the test, being creative!!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun!!
Who doesn't love an awesome handmade gift, alas it looks like I'm out of the running!
What a cool idea!
ReplyDelete=)
Hi, Becky
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I can't join in THIS time but I'm keeping this idea in mind for later.
Love your new blog look!
This looks like a fun idea. I may give this a try.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm not in the top five but I've seen this on a few blogs and I think it's pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI am at least No. 11, but I think 'Pay it Forward' sounds like a lot of fun. A type of swap that is not a swap, but a give...I think so. Please take pictures of the five things you make, and the handmade item that you receive and post so we all can see.
ReplyDeleteHey Everyone! Thanks so much for all your cool comments! I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I've chosen the First (available) Five: TK Richardson, Kathy of Oregon Gifts, Estrella, Sioux, and Jen Daiker! Please e-mail me with your mailing addresses! Thanks for wanting to Pay It Forward!
