Tonight I decided I'd like to share some tidbits about my book, beginning again with the title, for those of you that are new to my blog. It's part memoir and part current thoughts & observations.
The title is: That Crowbar Changed Everything!
(Yes, I did, indeed, have an "episode" involving a crowbar that may have altered the course of my life.)
Here are just a few chapter names:
Year of the Grasshopper Plague
Armpit of the USA
I Was NOT a Hippie!
He Called Me "The Tank"
Riding the Rails Alone
My Very Own Mayberry
Frostbite From a Turkey Neck
I also plan to include some old B/W photos from my childhood.
And I plan to include some of my mother's favorite sayings. You've seen those before referred to as: "Momisms". But, since my mother's name was Ruby, mine will be called "Rubyisms".
Just writing about it and posting it on my blog, makes me happier & more excited about working away at it!
** I also decided it was time to change the old Play List again. I needed some lively, rockin' songs! **
"We all have our 'good old days' tucked away inside our hearts, and we return to them in daydreams like cats to favorite armchairs." -- Brian Carter
Thank-you for the glimpse into your book! I can't wait to read more than the chapter titles!! :)
ReplyDeleteJust 69 days left!
ReplyDeleteSounds very intriguing, Becky! You go girl! Sincerely, Susan
ReplyDeleteHi Janel!! Thanks! I've only let very few writer-friends, read a very little bit! Semi-superstitious maybe? And scared!!
ReplyDeleteThanks again! I really appreciate the encouragement! :)
Hey Lynn.....gee, I thought you LIKED me!! :o
ReplyDeleteHi Susan!! Thanks so much! You're so sweet!!
ReplyDeleteSounds great! Are you SURE you're not a hippie? :)
ReplyDeleteWrite write write!!
xoxo
Hey Karrie! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! I've missed you! :(
ReplyDeleteAnd as far as being a Hippie...I wasn't one in the '60s or '70s. But, I may be tending to be just slightly Bohemic. (is that a word?? or even a proper sentence?? It's time to say "Goodnight
Gracie"!)
One more thing...it's a good thing you said "a" hippie, otherwise I'd think you were criticizing my shortness and stubbiness!
When is this going to be out for purchase...I am intrigued!
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteSounds like a winner. I love the Rubyisms.
Donna
Thanks, Julia! "Intrigued" is definitely a good thing!! I'll let you know when it will actually be available...but I'm hoping for sometime in October. If, for some reason, I don't make that deadline....I'll just make a new one, and keep on writin'! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Donna! Thanks! Glad you like the "Rubyisms"! :)
ReplyDeleteBecky your chapter titles are hilarious, especially the frost bit from a turkey neck. I can't stop laughing.
