* I did NOT win..... *

Finally the Erma Bombeck winners and honorable mentions have been listed on their website......

I did not win. I did not get an honorable mention......

Neither did any of my writer friends......

Maybe now I can sleep at night, or at least sleep without talking in my sleep ....like in giving my Thank-You speech........

Hey, local writer friends......let's go grab a bit to eat, huh? Since I'm not a drinker, I can't go drown my sorrows.

BUT, THIS ISN'T STOPPING ME, IN FACT, I'M ON A WRITING ROLL, SO ......I'LL ENTER AGAIN IN 2018.

    Sorry you didn't win. But never say die. (Well, you can SAY it but just don't DO it!)

    I got more sad news: Your vote for Glenn Miller's Orchestra in my latest BOTB didn't help HIM to win, either. In fact, he got horribly blown-out by Danny Gatton. Most lopsided BOTB contest I've had in recent memory.

    But, hey, I was happy you came over and voted. It's always a nice surprise when you drop by with your .02 cents. You have an open invitation, my friend.

    1. Thank you, Stephen T! And yeah, I knew about the blow-out on your recent BOTB post. That's okay, too. I just roll with the flow, ya know? I always like to visit your blog and I got a kick out of your song selections for your life! Boy, that kind of thing takes a lot of time. I doubt if I'll be doing that any time soon. And you, of course, always have an open invitation to stop by here, too, ya know! :)

      Yeah, I never really get upset about BOTB results. It's all for fun, and only a few times in 63 Battles have I ever really been rooting hard for one of the contestants. Even when I greatly prefer one over the other, it doesn't bother me if the other wins.

      That 'My Life According To Tom Waits' bit was fun and it didn't really take long at all to compose. I know those old songs so well that it was a snap to figure out where to place 'em. Glad you liked it!

  3. I am so glad that you have your writing mojo back. And hope that the next judges have some taste, discernment and can recognise a winner.

  4. Sorry you didn't win, Becky. It is amazing there are so many writers, that so many can take the numberous rejections. I stay low a while and then I hop back out there for some rejections!!!

  7. I did not win either. I guess I thought I had a chance, since that one time when I got 89th place in the Writer's Digest contest!

    Too bad ERMA doesn't go to 89th place! I'm sure I would have been in the running...

  8. I'm sorry you didn't win, Becky. I didn't win when I entered an Erma contest either. And yet I enjoy reading Erma and think my stories seem like a match. Oh well. Good luck with all you do, my dear. You are a wonderful writer.

I love comments, especially because I know the time it takes to stop and type one, even a short one! Thanks very much!
