** Ouch!....A Rejection E-mail This Morning **

Gee....I haven't seen one of those in a long time, and it's NOT because I'm constantly receiving acceptance e-mails. It's because I haven't been in the habit of submitting my writing lately. Partly because I'm working on my book, partly because even though I see tons of Calls for Submissions and Contests, I rarely send anything in, and partly because I'm just too busy blogging! (That's a whole other story, for another day!)

The rejection I received today was from Silver Boomer Books for a Grandparents anthology.


(I have no idea where I got this drawing! I remember cutting it from a newsletter or something, years ago.)


Oh well......I had my moment of disappointment, but then immediately got over it, because that particular story will be included in my book! ☺

    How nice you have back door open for your rejection!

    I read the other day there are almost more writers than readers these day. Must be a real problem for editors!

    Youch! I've only ever submitted a poem to be published and it was so I have never had to experience this...YET! I'm sure my desk will be littered with them when I finally try to find a publisher for my book...

    Hi Claudia! Thanks, and that is really interesting about the number of readers and writers. I've been amazed just recently by all the talented writers I've met through my blog....and just think what a minute number that is in the whole scheme of things! Dang, we're all so good!! :D

    Kind of a sweet revenge to be able to use the story in your book. :-) As a writer, you have to be thick skinned and roll with the punches, I think. I'm glad you aren't letting it get you down. Rejection is just one person's opinion after all. The next person who reads your work may love it.
