The rejection I received today was from Silver Boomer Books for a Grandparents anthology.
(I have no idea where I got this drawing! I remember cutting it from a newsletter or something, years ago.)
Oh well......I had my moment of disappointment, but then immediately got over it, because that particular story will be included in my book! ☺

(Is that quote hilarious, or what?!)

Becky, I'm sorry about your rejection email ... but I really LOVE your new graphics! Where are you finding them?
ReplyDeleteHow nice you have back door open for your rejection!
ReplyDeleteI read the other day there are almost more writers than readers these day. Must be a real problem for editors!
Hey, stay away from my head! ha! You have such a great attitude. Rock on!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the rejection. Those are always bummers. Glad to see you took it with a grain of salt!
ReplyDeleteAh, you'll find a home for it. I sit on some stories for years. Don't let it get you down.
ReplyDeleteYouch! I've only ever submitted a poem to be published and it was so I have never had to experience this...YET! I'm sure my desk will be littered with them when I finally try to find a publisher for my book...
ReplyDeleteSmiles of encouragement Becky!
Chin up:-)
Congratulations! Every rejection is proof that you are a writer submitting work! And Linda is right, you will find a home for it.
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm a new blogger, you have a good attitude. Hopefully that you'll get better recognition when you again submit.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy! Thanks! You're always so sweet!
ReplyDeleteHi Claudia! Thanks, and that is really interesting about the number of readers and writers. I've been amazed just recently by all the talented writers I've met through my blog....and just think what a minute number that is in the whole scheme of things! Dang, we're all so good!! :D
ReplyDeleteHey Jenny! You are too funny. It took me quite awhile to figure out what you were saying!! Duh on me!! Yep, Rock On!
ReplyDeleteHi Janel! Thanks! Yep...what can ya do??
Hi Linda! Thanks. I remember you telling me that...and also just changing the title and resubmitting it! LOL
Thanks, Julia! You're very sweet! And yeah...all writers get rejection slips. If we aren't getting them, then we aren't writing, are we?? Thanks for your kind words.
Hi Lisa! You're such a dahhhling!!
Hi Rose! Thank you so much for stopping and commenting! You must be the Rose that Chatty said she was sending over! :)
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I can, I'll go over and check out your blog, too.
Kind of a sweet revenge to be able to use the story in your book. :-) As a writer, you have to be thick skinned and roll with the punches, I think. I'm glad you aren't letting it get you down. Rejection is just one person's opinion after all. The next person who reads your work may love it.
ReplyDeleteThe only person who loses -is the one who quits! sandie
ReplyDeleteThanks Daisy and Chatty!! :D
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteI'm with Lisa. Rejections mean you are at least submitting. And what a great attitude to take that story and use in somewhere else.
