Susan at Stony River hosts Microfiction Monday. Susan posts pictures every week and writers take on the challenge to write 140 character (Twitter-sized) stories about the picture.
Here's this week's picture .....and my take on it:
Others question the flying fish. I question what else Lazy Dog offers. What can it be that the words had to be hidden behind the trees? (135 characters)
I wonder what is hidden?!
ReplyDeleteAn intriguing microficton.
Thanks, Ellie!!
ReplyDeleteWow Becky, you discovered the secret behind. What could it be?
ReplyDeleteGIRLS GIRLS GIRLS maybe.
Great one Becky.

ReplyDeleteLOL! I wondered what was behind the trees - didn't think to make it the story - clever :-)
ReplyDeleteYou let your mind wander and caused the reader to do the same.Good job!
ReplyDeleteYes, what hidden message lies behind that foliage? I can't wait to see how your novel, "The Jumping Fish Mystery" pans out!
ReplyDeleteGreat MM this week--hope the rest of your week goes well.
Clever take! So that's what was behind the trees!! I love it! Have a great week!

The horror, the horror were her last words. Mine is a homage to On the Waterfront this week and is here.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to be suspicious of signs covered by vegetation.
ReplyDeleteOf course, in the South, billboards usually conceal cops with radar!
Maybe some sort of Norman Bates-y accomadation, like while-you-wait taxidermy!
ReplyDeleteYou really got us thinking this time. LOL! SparkleFarkle~~~~~*
hi becky!
ReplyDeletethat's cute....!
um...listen i have sent you two replies...are you getting them? through email?
i will just reitterate, however you spell that word...,
your cards are sweet..and they bring smiles to many kids' faces, big and small!
if you want to challenge yourself..you can add a doodled border on the front for more framing and visual interest!
even a splash of paints on the front would add an extra umph!
keep having fun...art is essentially about the process of expression, like writing...so just feel your way through it!
ciao bella

Thanks for the morning laugh! I, too, wondered what was hidden behind the shrubbery.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun idea, this Microfiction Monday! Off to read some of your past posts, Becky, to see what I've been missing.
ReplyDeleteWising you a lovely Monday and a great great Summer!
xx
Hmmm...Lazy Dog looks a little strung out to me...too much caffeine. Maybe the sign says, "There's no such thing as too much espresso!"
ReplyDeleteYeah. That's worse than fine print.
ReplyDeleteprobably "jason and freddy kruger stayed here too!"
ReplyDeleteUsually advertisers want their billboards to be seen. Maybe this one planted the trees on purpose.
ReplyDeleteDon't think I'd want to stay there. :)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what was in those Hidden words. Nice one Becky,
