It's Tuesday and I have things to celebrate!
First of all: I owe Miss Cathy C. a huge apology. Cathy is one of my bestest blog buddies, and she bestowed a very sweet and special award upon me last Friday, the 20th. I thanked her in her comment section, but that's all I did. I forgot to post the adorable award on my blog or even mention it. So, better late then never, as the saying goes. Here is my award: The Circle of Friends Award! Isn't it cool? Thank you again, oh scathingly brilliant, Miss Cathy C.! I celebrate your friendship!
I'm choosing to not pass it along to any particular blog friends, because all of you are very special and I wouldn't want to leave anyone out! So, if you are reading this and you'd like to be part of this wonderful circle of friends, please feel free to grab the award and post it on your blog, too! (By the way, Circle of Friends is one of my favorite Maeve Binchy books!!)
Second of all: I mercifully and thankfully was migraine-headache-free when I woke at 3:00 AM this morning. I had one of my worst ones in quite a long time, which lasted over 24 hours. I celebrate being pain free!
Third of all: although it's not 100% back to normal, at least my back is better! I celebrate that, too!
Fourth of all: Although my car has been parked in the garage for over a week because it needs yet more repairs after we just spent $$$ on it a month ago, I have wonderful friends who offer rides when they know I need them, plus a wonderful husband who will drive me just about anywhere, anytime....as long as it doesn't interfere with his JOB! I celebrate my friends and my hubby! (I think I'm going to start calling him The Mister, like June Freaking Cleaver refers to her husband, because I just like it!)
And finally: I received an acceptance e-mail this evening about a story I wrote over a year ago for a newer anthology. I will share more information about that in the next day or so.
I celebrate my story acceptance!!
“Put yourself in a state of mind where you say to yourself, 'Here is an opportunity for you to celebrate like never before, my own power, my own ability to get myself to do whatever is necessary.'” -- Anthony Robbins
You are free to use The Mister (not the actual person, but the moniker) whenever you like!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're on the mend, and am looking forward to hear about your story acceptance!
Circle of Friends is an example of one of the rare times I've seen the movie but not read the book first. In fact, I haven't ever read the book. (I've heard that Last of the Mohicans---another great movie---is better than the book.)
ReplyDeleteBecky, if you've seen the movie as well, how does the book compare?
Oh, congratulations on the story acceptance, Becky. That was great news. Glad you are feeling better, too,and that you are the recipient of the award! Hope your day is great today. Susan
ReplyDeleteWow, Becky! You have had a lot of positive things to celebrate today. I am so glad that you are feeling better, and that your story got accepted. Yay!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the Cirlce of Friends button. I love Mauve Benche (sp?) and that book is one of my very favorites too. I also love The Copper Beech. I have read both of them over and over, along with many of her other books. That lady can sure tell a story.
You sure are on a roll!
Kathy
Aw, Becky, you know awards keep, like, FOREVER. :-)
ReplyDeleteCelebrating your blessings, too! Can't wait to hear more-

Wow, between you, Linda and Dianna I cannot keep up with all the publications you all are in and going to be in - I'm so Happy for my friends' accomplishments! Whoo-hoo. And so glad you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on another story acceptance! You have so many good thingst o be happy for!
ReplyDeleteIt is good to feel better and congratulations on your acceptance.
ReplyDeleteBecky, it is wonderful that you have so many things to celebrate! Congratulations on your acceptance! I think we all have much to be grateful for if we just take the time to notice. :)
ReplyDeleteHi June ~ Thanks for letting me borrow "The Mister"..and yes, I didn't mean the REAL mister!! :D
ReplyDeleteI may have to use a different name, now, though. I'll try it out at a later time! And thanks for the well-wishes!
Hi Sioux ~ I read the book before I saw the movie, and as in most cases, I was really disappointed with the ENDING OF THE MOVIE!! I cannot stand it when the ending in the movie is different than the book!! Acckkkk!! I can't stand that! Grisham's "The Firm" was the same way, and so was "A Patch of Blue". (boy, I'm going really far back on that one!! But that's how much it bothered me!!) We'll have to talk more about all that before or after the Sat Writers meeting, if you're going to be there!! :)
Hi Susan ~ Thank you so much, my dear, for everything!!
Hi Kathy ~ Thank you for everything, too! So glad to know you also love Maeve! I remember Copper Beech, slightly, and I know I loved it. I've loved all her books, except one of her latest. It wasn't about Ireland! Imagine that! It was about an island or somewhere in Italy. I just couldn't get into it, at all. I didn't read much, either, because I refuse to keep reading a book I don't like! BUT, I've loved all her others!
Hey Cathy C. ~ Thanks, dahhhhlin'!
Hi Donna ~ Thank you!!
Hi Linda ~ Thanks! I've tried all kinds of things to do or don't do, concerning my headaches, but there never seems to really be any reason for them!
Hi Sue ~ Thank you, m'dear!
Hey Lynn ~ Thanks, Dahhhhling! I love your writing, too!
Hi Terri ~ Thank you so much!
Hi Nessa ~ Thank you for stopping and leaving a comment! I really appreciate it!
Hi Daisy ~ Thanks! That is so true, and you are good at it, too, because you ARE the Dancer!! :D
Congrats on your award, Becky. The circle of Friends, what lovely line. That quote is one of the bests I have ever read!! LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteHave happy Thursday! xxx
Congratulations on everything! You're such a positive person, the Universe couldn't help but shine on you! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww, thank you Saskia and Lisa! You both are quite wonderful, yourselves! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats again, Becky, and I celebrate your celebrations! May things continue on the non-painful and non-broken (and non-expensive) route!
ReplyDeleteI am celebrating with you and glad you are feeling better!!
ReplyDeleteHi Tammy & Linda! Thank you both, very much!! I'm looking forward to the season of autumn, in hopes of cooler temps (although we've had a couple of gorgeous days lately!), and maybe not so much drama in my life!
ReplyDeletecong on your award. it's great re your publication. have a great day. rose
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you on all the positive happenings..from the improved back to being migraine free to awards to the great music that you play on your blog....I sometimes read your blog over & over just to listen to the music !!!
ReplyDeleteThe Turtle Lady
Hi Rose! Thank you for always stopping to say hello! I really do appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteHi TL! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! And I'm so happy you like my music! I'll keep it turned on, too, just for background music when I'm cleaning or doing something other than "heavy duty reading or writing" because then it's an intrusion to my brain! :)
