** The Liberty Swing is a state of the art playground swing that locks wheelchairs into the swing and allows children and adults with disabilities to swing without leaving their chair!
The mission of the CFCO is to "raise our community's educational and awareness levels of safety and health issues in hopes of preventing misfortune..." The CFCO has been raising awareness and funds to bring the Liberty Swing to Cottleville, which will be the 2nd in the state and 13th in the nation! For more information about the CFCO, Fall Festival, Liberty Swing or to donate on-line please visit http://www.cottlevilleswing.com/. ** Obviously if you don't live near St. Louis, Missouri, you won't be able to attend. If you'd like to be involved, though, and make a donation, please go to the link provided.**
This magnificent swing was invented by an Australian man named Wayne Devine. Please check out the You-Tube videos included on the CFCO website. You'll probably need a hankie when you see the joy and smiles on the children's and adult's faces!
I hope everyone knew I couldn't be in another disheartened temperament again tonight, right? Two days in a row? Never! (that pertains to my political post of yesterday!) And look what a wonderful event I have to share. ☺
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." -- Melody Beattie
So glad you're feeling more cheerful. How can you not with festivals in the horizon.
ReplyDeleteI love the quote. It reminds me to be grateful, and I am.
What a cool idea with The Swing! The things we, without disabilities, take for granted.
