Every time I say, think or hear the words "so much to say", I always think of the Dave Matthews song. I must admit I rarely understand most of the lyrics to his songs, but I love the tone of his voice and all the magic he does with it. I love most of the music, too......lots of great dancing songs. And...oh yeah...he is definitely easy on the eyes!! Woot!
Two: Yesterday, The Ronald and I took grandson Scotty to the Life is Good Festival in St. Charles. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. All proceeds went to the Life is Good Kids Foundation.
I love the entire Live is Good story. If you don't know about it, or the merchandise, etc. click Jake's on Main (Street). I didn't have time to buy anything, but since we're fortunate to have a Genuine Neighborhood store so near, I can certainly get by there sometime soon.
Three: I'm still in a very good writing mode. In fact, I've been working diligently on a Saturday Writers contest that must be snail-mailed by the 20th of this month. (a birthday for a special person, too!) I'm also getting other contests and submissions written on my schedule, in hopes to keep better track of them. I actually got a little networking in at the festival yesterday, too!! Ah yes, Life is definitely Good!!

I love Dave Mathews band; is hard to pick just one since I like so many of their songs (the space between is just brilliant)but one of my favorite's songs is "Funny the way it is" ... here is the chorus so you can see why is so powerful:
ReplyDelete"Funny the way it is, if you think about it
Somebody's going hungry and someone else is eating out
Funny the way it is, not right or wrong
Somebody's heart is broken and it becomes your favorite song
Funny the way it is, if you think about it
One kid walks 10 miles to school, another's dropping out
Funny the way it is, not right or wrong
On a soldier's last breath his baby's being born"
Have a great Sunday!
Hi Becky,
ReplyDeleteSpending time at the festival with your grandboy sounds like so much fun!
Thanks for the nice pics of Mrs. Cleaver.
I am really proud of how on track you are with all of your writing. I feel scattered all over the place; I am producing, but not in words.
Have a wonderful week!
Kathy
I went biking on the Katy Trail today, and saw the "Life is Good" banners. I'm glad you included the link, because I was not sure what the slogan was about.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're still in the writing zone...
You've been busy! That makes life LIFE!!
ReplyDeleteI mostly listen to oldies (Sinatra and/or Big Band), but when I listen to current stuff, it's mostly country, so I don't know much about Dave Matthews. However, he did a song with Kenny Chesney sometime last year, and I really like that song. He DOES have a great-sounding voice.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, I've been in writing mode too. I am playing around with a novel, and funny, it's NOT set in the 1940's, but in current times. My mind is in overdrive, and I can't get my fingers to type that fast.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Patti
Have a loveliest new week ahead Becky and a sweet Sunday, enJOY the music! xxx
ReplyDeleteSad news about Barbara Billingsley. I always loved that show.
ReplyDeleteSounds like that was a lovely way to spend your Saturday.
Hope you have a good week ahead! :)
You've been a busy bee. The festival sounds like fun; I bet you're a cool grandma!
ReplyDeleteNice post, Becky. Especially loved the Lenard Cohen quote. Susan
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have been really busy - but with fun. I am so glad for you.

Hi Becky, I love the Life is Good brand also. I have a wonderful T-shirt with a TV on it that says underneath it, "Think out of the Box". I am happy to hear they are into helping kids. Thanks for sharing. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteSaw where Barbara B had passed. Another good one gone :(
ReplyDeleteBecky, life is good. Glad you're enjoying it - writing, spending time with grandson, appreciating music. Yes, life is good.
ReplyDeleteWe're big Dave Matthews fans, too.
