* Feelin' Comfy and At Home *

Here's Vern lying in the kitchen, next to the patio door, basking in the sun. He only began doing this the other day which seems funny to me. It's as if, day by day, he's feeling more and more comfy, cozy and at home here....his new Forever Home.

He is such a joy. I couldn't have gotten a more perfect dog, even if I'd ordered him from "Perfect Dogs for Lonesome Empty-Nester Moms Dot Com."

He loves to ride in the car with me when I go on quick errands. He LOVES to go for walks on his leash, which is a very good thing for me too, since I love to walk and definitely need to lose quite a few pounds.

Today is the beginning of his 2nd week with us and The Ronald and I are just crazy about him! So is our 23 year old son and his girl friend. They both want to come over and dog sit for us, which I'm sure we can arrange sometime.

  3. I am glad you and Vern found each other! My granddog has been here this weekend and I spent morning with her in doggie ER. Has torn ligamnets and faces surgery eventually. I am so sad and worried about her. Son took her home while inflamation goes down and then will see....meanwhile, Vern looks cozy! :)

  5. The top photo of Vern---with the pattern made by the light streaming in through the vertical blinds---you might think of submitting this to Lisa to possibly use on her BBF. (I'm sure you have many other photos you could send, if you haven't already.)

  7. He looks SO comfortable and at home. Aren't animals wonderful? I was afraid of dogs when I was young, and then my children got dogs. I especially love a little Jack Russell Terrier named Milo, "son" of my youngest daughter and her husband.

I just know you'll LOVE Vern! Sounds like you're already basking in the warmth of each other!!

  14. it must have been a hard thing for Vern to relocate at this point in his life but what a lucky dog to find his way into your heart! I have a rescued min pin, leaning on my right knee - staring at me with eyes full of love. THEY KNOW we saved them!!!

  19. A new sweet, furry somebody to love! Congratulations--> Vern is simply adorable! As my all-time and forever hero once said, "I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive." -- Gilda Radner

(P.S. Did you know Miss Radner had a dog named Sparkle? (<--cLiCkY-cLiCky to see the Yorkie who served as ring bearer at Gilda and Gene Wilder's wedding!)
