It's Almost Wednesday and I'm Wide Awake

Such a busy, rainy day today. First I went to my "Coffee & Critique" group in the morning. Then I ended up spending way too much time on what was supposed to be a simple, one-stop errand. Don't even ask.

By the time I got back home, poor Vern followed me around and pleaded with his eyes. He loves to go on our walks. Fortunately the rain had stopped and it was only misting. But it was cold outside. (Baby, it's cold outside.... ♪♫ ) I bundled myself up and put his new sweater on him. Have I even mentioned that? I don't think I have. Although I'm a dog lover, I used to scoff at people who dressed their dogs in any kind of clothing. But, I discovered that Vern actually does get cold.....so voila'!

I think he needs a bigger size! I'm not sure since I don't know how a sweater should fit a dog. I do know that I have to giggle because he reminds me of Porky Pig. Remember how he always wore just a shirt and NO PANTS?! What's up with that?

But Vern seems to really like his sweater, and he lets me put it on him with ease. Have I mentioned how much I love this dog?? Every time we go on our walk, I think, We may have saved his life, but he's also saved mine, to an extent. I've mentioned the weight I've lost, mostly due to walking, which should also effect my cholesterol in a very positive way, etc. I expect to live to be 100!

  1. Oh I just love your Vern and I LOVE his sweater. It seems to fit ok. My three dogs in South Africa have coats during the day in winter, and pyjamas for nighttime wear. I love walking them when we're back home yes, I agree, if your dog is fat you're not getting enough exercise. Oh I love that quote! I also love that I can share you weather and house-hold happenings from the other side of the world. Blessings, Jo

  3. Vern looks so sweet in his sweater. Does he like to wear it? Some dogs don't. Guess I missed your weight loss, but good for you. Wish I could manage to do it too. My son just lost 60 pounds which is great inpsiration for his mother but then he carried it on a 6'4 frame and his didn't show so much as when carried on tree stumps! Happy Thanksgiving,Becky.

  4. Hi Jo! Thanks so much for stopping by. I never thought about looking for PJ's for Vern! I don't think he gets cold at bedtime, though, since he sleeps in the MIDDLE of my side of the bed! I'm either curled in a fetal position, or I'm on the edge of the bed, with my legs practically hanging off the side! No wonder I don't sleep very well! :)

  7. Hi Bookie! Yes, Vern does like his sweater! I noticed he seemed to almost shiver when we walked on a cold day, so I asked my the vet about it. She said dogs are like people, that some get colder than others, etc. Who knew? Not me!

  8. Aw, I'll bet Vern loves feeling cozy in that sweater. He seems like he's a good pup, maybe Santa will bring him another one for Christmas.

    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  14. I think Vern looks absolutely handsome in his sweater. And I know what you mean about the benefits of walking the dog. I don't think I'd exercise otherwise.

I know you already celebrated your Thanksgiving, but have a great day tomorrow.

  15. I think Vern also needs some little boots, so when it snows or the sidewalk is covered with ice and salt, his feet will be comfy.

I agree with Jo. I think it fits him just fine.

But go and get him some boots.(Just kidding.)
