Harry: My whole life I have never known what this song means.
Sally: I know exactly what you mean.
Harry: I mean, should old acquaintances be forgot. Does that mean we should forget old acquaintances, or does it mean if we do happen to forget them, we should remember them, which is not possible because we forgot them…..
Sally: Maybe you're just supposed to remember you forgot them, or something – anyway it's about old friends.

Happy New Year to Everyone! May 2012 be our best year yet!
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." – Mark Twain
It's a haunting old tune...to raise a cup to those forgotten and old times long gone. A sad kind of thing to sing at the start of a new year. Happy New Year to you and yours.

ReplyDeleteI don't know what that song means either. Congrats on all of your new followers, Becky. You have tons compared to me, but it didn't help when I got mad and removed my widget, lol.
ReplyDeleteI just saw this post and it really made me smile, as this is one of my favorite movies ever as well. And, I was thinking about this scene myself on New Year's Eve! I love the melancholy feeling of that song.
