Maxine and More

Gotta love Maxine!

She tells it like it is!

I think I need to learn how to have a martini every now and then!

In September of 2010, my blog friend TK Richardson and I got together and started "Comment Like Crazy," a weekly blog feature. We had the best of intentions but I don't think either one of us got very far with it. I know I didn't! (You can read all about it HERE)

I'm not announcing any new attempt at this, just the fact that this weekend, February 18 and 19, I will spend LOTS of time reading and commenting on as many blogs as I can. We all have important and/or entertaining things to say, and pictures to post, and they deserve as much attention as they can get! I can't promise a long and drawn out comment, but I'll do my best!☺

** Speaking of comments, I'm sure you've all noticed by now the horrendous new verification baloney that Blogger has us doing! Ridiculous! They don't even give anyone a choice..Therefore, I have elected to do away with my verification feature. I have my Comment Setting scheduled for me to check on, and give the okay to, any comments on posts that are older than seven days. That way I will most likely see any spam or inappropriate comments before they are displayed.**

* I'll also be back on Sunday, with my Nostalgic Sunday post. *

  4. Maxine is hilarious. I think her saggy boobs will forever be in my brain reminding me to raise my hands. Your post is funny.

  5. Maxine is a gem and, like mybabyjohn/Delores I find that I am channeliing her a little too often for comfort. Other people's comfort.

  6. I love Maxine! Moxie galore!
Getting to read all the blogs we want is a real chore if you have any list of things needing to be done like laundry, groceries, cooking, sweeping, writing, and...... :)

  7. Love Maxine! And yes, that verification thing...horrible. I just, no lie, tried NINE times to comment on someone's blog. I guess I must be a computer... :)

  8. This is a bulletin: I am MAXINE! And I was here(obediently following the above instruction). That's my obedience quotient for today. Yes, Bookie, It's all about the Moxie.

It is quite noble...and impossible...to Read many blogs, but sometimes, I make an effort to just devote a morning, or a sleepless night to same. I understand I have a lot of readers.....who are keeping their secret from me. Why in heck don't they drop a line?

  9. I can't stand word verification, and the new set-up is even more of a pain than the old one. Little did I realize, though, that my movie blog was set up with word verification. I had no idea of that. Must've been a default setting, because I have never used it on any of my blogs (and I've been blogging since 2006). Thankfully, a friend complained about it today because of the new word verification. That alerted me to the fact that my blog was requiring that. I immediately went in and changed it.

    Have a great weekend,
    Patti

  10. Maxine reminds me of my mom, except mom doesn't drink martinis, lol or anything stronger than coffee.
I don't like the new verification system either. It is what they use on blogs hosted elsewhere I've noticed. I can barely make out the letters and numbers most of the time.

  12. Love Maxine! Friday is always a good night for a martini. Why don't you start tonight? I think I will. ;)

  14. Love Maxine! When I worked I had one of the daily calendars and it was sometimes the highlight of my day!
I hate the new verification. I don't have any verification on my blog and I almost never ever get Spam. hugs, Linda

  15. Personally, I think that's a smart move eliminating the verification step. I've had mine off ever since Blooger re-did their spam prevention, and I haven't had a single issue.

    Have a great weekend! :)

    Thanks for the fun post!

  18. I need to get back to better reading! And commenting when I read -- sometimes you just go so fast (or sneak it in on the office computer!) you get out before the comment! I'll do better, too!

I'm still getting quite a few spam comments that are Anonymous, so I'm trying "User with Google Accounts." If anyone tries to comment that I know, and it won't let you, send me an email, okay? Thanks so much.
