I wanted to post a tribute to her, but my buddy, Karen Wojcik Berner wrote such a beautiful piece about her, I'm directing readers to her blog: Bibliophilic Blather.
If you haven't read any of her novels, you've truly missed some beautiful writing.
Just one of her books I've read
"My heroines do not become beautiful elegant swans, they become confident ducks and get on with life." -- Maeve Binchy
I am so sorry to hear that. I love her books.
ReplyDeleteI thought about all the wonderful stories she has told when I heard this news! What a great writer.
ReplyDeleteShe was one of my favourite authors. I've read all of her books but one. I'll miss looking forward to new ones.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I did NOT know this. She was a favorite of mine. However, I have been trying to read Minding Frankie and not getting into it. I totally blame the reader! Thanks for sharing even if it is sad news....
ReplyDeleteYes, she certainly knew how to hook a reader! More sad news...

Gosh, Becky. Two writers lost. I have never read this author's writing but would like to. Susan

I was so sad when I read of her death. She has brought such joy to millions of readers. I have all her books in hardback, and just love her storytelling and her characters. Maeve will be sadly missed.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear it. She was and is a favorite of mine.

You are such a generous blogger and human. And yes, her writing is sublime and she will be missed.
ReplyDeleteI loved her books too. The new ones were great, but the old ones are my favorite. I have many in my mom cave. It is so sad that she has gone.

ReplyDeleteI'm ashamed to say that I have never read anything by this author, but now I will add it to my summer to-do list. If you like her, she must be good.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh- I did not know this. I LOVE Maeve Binchy too. I've missed you - I saw you commented over at Donna's blog and I haven't been to anyone's blog all summer because we've been on the road mostly in Canada and wifi has been so bad. It's all I can do to get pictures up. Plus, I haven't really felt like talking! Hope you are well, and also sorry to hear about your friend who passed away.
