Julie's blog post is about mountain climbing and writing.....and oh yes, I definitely agree they are similar!

It took me quite a few years to realize that life is about The Journey, and not The Destination.
How about you? Do you have a favorite quote about life you'd like to share?
"My momma always said, 'Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get.'" Forrest Gump

My favorite is the one by Barbara DeAngelis. Life truly is quite a journey.
ReplyDeleteI think of my dear hubs - he got into fishing - and he studied and studied and studies and that was all he talked about - then he didn't catch a thing. lol I told him he needed to just go fishing!
ReplyDeleteI love to read quotes --always impressed with the wisdom in a nugget.
ReplyDeleteGreat quotes! Hope you have a fun weekend!

That Ray Charles knew what he was talking about. I have always liked this quote by Barbara Bush, The former First Lady.
ReplyDelete"I'll do anything you want, but I won't dye my hair, change my wardrobe, or lose weight." It agree with her. ; )
Hello...and thanks Pat, Carol, and Gigi Ann! I really like Ray's quote, too! :)

Great quotes. I am a prolific quote collector and quite sharer, especially on Facebook. Before blogging and Facebooking, I used to write them in a journal. Enjoyed reading these.
ReplyDeleteI like 'he who fears what he may suffer, already suffers what he fears'.

ReplyDelete"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

Oh man . . . yes, yes, and yes. Those are all so true. The older I get the more I need to remind myself to just chill and enjoy the journey.
ReplyDeleteOh, I am also a big quote lover so I was glad to read the intro to your post! Some of these are new to me, I love them all. I especially love the Fontaine quote, that's a new one to me.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to pick a favorite quote, I think it would be "It is never too late to be what you might have been" from George Eliot.
Thanks again to everyone for the newest comments! Hello and welcome Claire!
ReplyDeleteHey Julie, that is also one of my mostest favoritestesss...!! I used to have it on my blog column, along with some others. I just may have to add that somewhere!
"A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it." -- Jean de la Fontaine
ReplyDeleteNever read that one before, but I like it!
My favorite quote is kind of a serious one:
ReplyDeleteFirst they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.
Hi Lisa! Thank you for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteHey Margo...."kind of serious"...?? WOW, that is a powerful quote! It gave me goosebumps! Thanks!
I collect quotes too. The one by Ray Charles made me chuckle.
