I posted this photo on Oct 19th but I just had to do it again today. With all the time I'm spending clicking away on my laptop, Vern and I are spending lots of time in this spare bedroom/office and I love it. The daybed is almost directly parallel to the top of my desk (tiny kitchen table, actually!) It's so much easier for us to see each other, and allows Vern to keep a watch out the window, too! This is in the front of our townhouse. He sees all. He knows all. ☺
Since my post last month, I've discovered something very interesting about Mr.Vern. He loves Christmas music! Especially oldies like the songs included in The Time Life Treasury of Christmas. I log into Pandora, make my music selection, and voila', Vern is off to slumber land!

And just why am I listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving?? It goes all the way back to high school. In October, at the first sign of really cold, wintry weather, one of my girl friend's and I would grab a couple of our Christmas LPs and start listening to them. I've been doing it ever since then, although I normally get aggravated at all the stores for having Christmas decorations out so early. But, this year I'm enjoying it! I'm embracing it! What can I say? Yes, I know. I'm an enigma. That's what The Ronald says all the time!
Have a beautiful, blissful day!
"No matter how little money and how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you rich." -- Louis Sabin
Have a tremendous Thursday and enjoy the Christmas songs.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Hi Molly! Thanks, we're still enjoying the music!
DeleteSo nice that Vern shares your taste in music.
ReplyDeleteHi Delores! I know, that IS nice, isn't it?? :)
DeleteOh Becky, I love Vern and love it when you post about him. What a faithful friend and companion. Hope you're having a great day (with Vern by your side!) Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Jo! Thank you! Yes, Vern is my "baby"...The Ronald and I are both those wacky people that treat their dog like a human being....well, because he IS! :)
DeleteVern looks so comfortable! Wish I curl up with him a while...bet he is warm!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Bookie! It's nice to curl up with him for a little while,,,and yes, he is warm...but it's not so great when he takes over the whole side of my bed at night! LOL
DeleteBecky, if I order through PayPal, will be copy be autographed? Please! Thanks, Laurie Ritchey
ReplyDeleteHI Laurie! Thanks...we already solved this, didn't we?
DeleteThat is so sweet about Vern loving Christmas music. My two pups, now deceased, loved Johnny Mathis and HATED rock and roll. No kidding. I could put Johnny on, and they would hunker down and sleep. Rock and roll had them frantic.
ReplyDeleteOh Ms Magpie! That is adorable! Thank you so much for sharing that with us. I can just picture the little guys!! Awww.....
DeleteLove Vern's vantage point - he can see you AND check for intruders. Less convinced about the music the pair of you are enjoying - but have fun.
ReplyDeleteHey EC ~ You're funny!! I know you aren't ready for Christmas yet...and I certainly don't blame you. I'm really early!
DeleteAwww! What a sweet post, Becky.

Thanks, Pat!
DeleteI have the Time Life Treasury of Christmas! And we started listening to the SiriusXM Christmas stations yesterday in the car. Vern has good taste.
ReplyDeleteHey Val ~ I just knew there were lots of reasons why I like you!! :)
DeleteSo glad you have such a loving writing companion, Becky. And I love that comforter, too. Looks sooooo comfy. Susan
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! Thank you. I'm very glad I have dear Vern, too. I love that comforter, too!
DeleteOh, I love the Time Life Christmas!! I have that cd and it's always been my favorite for Christmas music. Vern has good taste. :)
ReplyDeleteAnimals make the best writing companions as far as I'm concerned. Hugs to Vern!
Thanks, Julie! You said it all...!
DeleteVery has good taste...in owners AND in music.
ReplyDelete=)
Awwww, thanks Sue! What a lovely comment.
DeleteVern is smart enough to know it is never too early for Christmas music! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! Another great comment! I just love reading all of these!
DeleteI loved this post. It made my heart sing.
ReplyDeleteOh Mimsie, as I came over to your blog and told you....YOUR comment made MY heart sing! What a beautiful way to express yourself!
DeleteHi Becky, I popped over for a quick look and scrolled right down to your bookmark post. My daughter and I have our own style of bookmarks, we print out 4x6 photos of our favourite TV characters or scenes then laminate them to use as bookmarks. I like that your desk is a tiny kitchen table. Mine too! Of course mine is the only table I have so things have to get shoved aside for other things a lot of the time. I'll be back, but right now it's past 11pm and I really must get some sleep.
ReplyDeleteHey River! Great to meet you! And thank you for sharing your idea about the bookmarks! I hope you got some good sleep. Vern decided he wanted to wake me at 5:00am this morning....that's NOT the usual time, but I don't mind once I'm up!! :)
DeleteSuch a sweet photo of your Vern, and how lovely that you are such good companions. Strangely enough, I have been listening to a Christmas CD by Bing Crosby this morning, and it is playing now in the background. I 'm sorry I've been missing, but I am still trying to catch up after spending three weeks in France, looking after my eldest daughter, who has been in hospital. I'm sure I glimpsed something about your Memoir now being on sale, so I am going to go and seek out that post right now my friend. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteDiane, that is just wonderful that you and I both like Bing Crosby Christmas music!! (that doesn't happen that often to me!) LOL
DeleteI'm sure you are exhausted after helping your daughter. Please take care of yourself now and rest up.
Vern is such a cutie. I love Christmas music, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! Thanks. Vern is definitely my doll baby!
DeleteHi, My first time visit here... found your link on Susan's site. I was intrigued about seeing the note about you being a memoir writer, as this is an area I'm just working in.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to visiting again soon...lots to check out.
Wishing you glimpses of heaven in unexpected places. I'm sure Vern will help you find them...he looks like he has a good nose on 'em.
HI Brenda! I thought for sure I replied to your comment! I apologize! (maybe I sent you an e-mail?) Thank you very much for stopping, commenting, and becoming a new follower. I really appreciate it! I'd love to know more about your writing, so hopefully you'll share some of it with me. And thank you for the glimpses of heaven wishes. How beautiful that is. I wish, back to you, a beautiful, blissful day!
