* YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED, & NEITHER DO I *

I'd like to share a bizarre little story that still baffles me.

My Kodak printer/copier ran out of color ink about a week ago,
and I finally went to Walmart on Saturday to buy a new package.

It was properly sealed.

The box had not been opened.
There weren't any cuts or tears in the cardboard.

I grabbed my scissors to cut open the silver bag.......

And saw that it had already been cut open!
 It wasn't a jagged tear. It was a cut.

I immediately thought, This is bad. This is really bad.
They are not going to allow me to return or exchange this!

The orange, plastic cover was snapped onto it as it's supposed to be.
But that ink cartridge was EMPTY! When I removed my used one, and clicked the "new" one into place, I just knew it was either empty or close to it because it was very lightweight. I did try to use it to print something, but the copier just kept yelling at me to replace my empty cartridge! (Why can't it still go ahead and print black and white documents?? That's what I use the most.) My stomach just sank. I knew if I took it back to Walmart and told them the truth, they'd never believe me.
Heck, I wouldn't believe me.

Well, I figured out a way to not lose any money in this little predicament. The same day I bought the ink cartridge, I also bought a new watch ($10.88) and some makeup ($7.00?) Luckily, I hadn't opened either one yet, and so they are going back to the store for a refund of almost the price of the ink cartridge!
I don't have to have those two items, but I do have to have my ink!

~~~
Sheesh! I finally got all my laptop and e-mail issues straightened out, and then this happened! Oh well....it could be a lot worse! Just call me Pollyanna!
    1. Hi Jo! After reading all these lovely comments, I've decided I WILL take it all back to Walmart tomorrow, Wednesday. Maybe they HAVE had similar things happen and would like to know about it.
  3. Now that is low down. Someone hot glued the back flap back together and returned a used cartridge. You know what they say about Karma.
  4. I believe you Becky... strange things like that happen to me too, and sometimes I never find out how or why! Brilliant way to outwit the gremlins though, getting refunds on the stuff you DIDN'T need, and your story made me smile :-) JJ
  5. Someone was very creative in their pursuit of new printer ink...too bad it was you ended up on the short side. I rarely buy anything at WalMart preferring to get my ink from Future Shop where the supplies are flying off the shelves too fast (I hope) for something like that to happen and the aisles are well patrolled by representatives.
    1. Hi Delores! Thanks much. The main reason I've been buying my ink cartridges at Walmart is because not many office supply stores around here carry Kodak ones. The two must have some kind of agreement. I've been aggravated the last couple of times I've been there, too. The shelves are almost empty of the kind I need, etc. I'll have to check Best Buy...They might carry them.
  6. You should have told Wal Mart. Someone has re-glued that box together. I'd still tell them. Imagine how many other people get scammed, and truly, it's not Wal Mart's fault.
    (I get my ink from InkGrabbers.com. It's cheap and I've had no problems with it...be sure to google discount code and get a coupon for it too for additional savings.)
    1. Hi Elizabeth! Thanks so much for replying and especially telling me about Inkgrabbers.com. I will definitely look into that. And yes, I am going to go to Walmart tomorrow and try to return it. :)
  7. Oh my, that's terrible. Someone returned it before you with an empty cartridge inside and then re-glued the box. I would probably try taking it back anyway. Worst they can do is tell you they won't take it back.
  11. Oh Becky. Hiss and spit. And yes, I would probably (with my heart in my mouth for fear that they would think I was a scammer) try and take it back.
  14. I would have taken it back too, 'cause now you don't have a watch and makeup. But I like your attitude. Why waste time on such things.
    (Becky, I sent you an email. I wonder if you received it.)
  15. So somebody got a twofer at your expense. Soon we'll need to weigh everything before we buy.
    1. Hi Geo! I agree about weighing everything. And you know what else I thought of after I realized what'd happened?? I don't remember the scanner make that funny noise it makes when the cashier swipes something over it that has a detector thingy in it. It was inside the box, but obviously didn't need a second "swipe"..... LOL
  16. I agree with everyone else, I would try and return it. I have found that WalMart people are usually good to deal with. If those people who did this to the ink cartridge would put their hard work and imagination into doing good, they would go far.
