* AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT *

I'm sure most of you are really tired of reading anything that has to do with my memoir....and I'm kind of weary of it myself! So, as the title proclaims, this won't be the same old same old.

Below is my favorite 2013 Christmas gift!

I know all about those Keurig Coffee Makers being such a big hit, but I'm not about to pay that much for any kind of coffee maker. It doesn't matter to me that it can make different flavors of coffee and tea and other drinks.

BUT, sometimes I don't feel like making an entire pot of coffee, and would love to brew just one cup. My best (non-writer) friend, Sherry and I were out shopping before Christmas and I saw the box of this adorable little maker - Bella Single Serve Brewer. (We always exchange Christmas gifts. Nothing extravagant. Just something we know the other person will love!) It was less than $20.00, so I nonchalantly said something about what a great gift that would make! J And so, you know what I received from (non-writer) Sherry!

It will work for a coffee mug, a larger mug, and even a tall Styrofoam cup! I just love it! After the first few weeks of getting out the large coffee container every time for just a teeny scoop, I decided I needed some kind of container(s) that would hold the individual portions. I was hoping to find something inexpensive at one of the discount stores, not really knowing what I wanted. I knew, though, that when I saw it, I would know.

So, as I was weaving through the aisles, looking for the small-plastic-containers-similar-to-Rubbermaid-Tupperware-type thingys.....I passed this amazing little thingy in the craft aisle! It is PERFECT! It holds the small amount I need. It snaps shut. It holds enough for six large Styrofoam cups of coffee, and it cost One Dollar! Ta Da!

* I forgot to remind everyone that I'm the guest blogger at Carol Kilgore's, Under the Tiki Hut this week. My post will be the top one until next Monday, March 17 at 6:00 AM. Please stop by and leave a comment if you haven't already. And YES, I did mention my memoir again!! *

(I couldn't decide on just one coffee quote....!)

"I have measured out my life with coffee spoons." -- T.S. Eliot

"My dream is to have a house on the beach, even just a little shack somewhere so I can wake up, have coffee, look at dolphins, be quiet and breathe the air." -- Christina Applegate

"To me, the smell of fresh-made coffee is one of the greatest inventions." -- Hugh Jackman

"I put instant coffee in a microwave oven and almost went back in time." -- Steven Wright

  1. I need this. I am alone most of the time, as Bill is gone weeks at a time. I just have a cup of instant coffee...it gets a little boring though. You should live closer to me. Just sayin'.

  3. I am a tea drinker - but can still see the charm. And isn't it wonderful to get a gift which is thoughtful and just hits the spot. Each and every time you use it.

    1. Hi Sue ~ You can use these for tea, also! Just drop the little tea bag, or loose leafs, into the filter, and voila' !

  4. We are tea drinkers here so a tea bag make life east peasy. Have a fabulous Friday.

  5. What a handy item and I know you love it. I am not a coffee drinker, but do tea only. One cup never is enough anyway. With tea, it is more than the drink alone, ...boil, warm pot, brew,...it is the process that is part of the refreshment so I don't mind making a whole pot.

    1. Hi Bookie! I love how you explained and described that drinking the tea is not the only thing! I can understand how the process would be soothing. Thanks for sharing that info with us!

  6. That is a clever little gizmo and will come in very handy. I'm one of those non-coffee- drinking social outcasts. But I love, love, love my tea!

    1. Hi Pat! I laughed at your "non-coffee-drinking social outcasts" comment! I like hot tea every now and then, but I gots to have my coffee! :) I drink tons of iced tea, though....Does that count?!

  7. I recently discovered the joy of coffee. Now, I am an addict. Ha!

We actually have a regular drip coffee maker and a Kuerig. My mom bought the containers so that you can use your own coffee and not one of their outrageously priced coffees each time you want a cup. BUT, we still haven't figured out how much coffee to use. It is a process!

In other news, I dedicated something to you on my HERE'S TO YOU post. Hope you like it:!

    1. Hi Robin ~ YAY, another new coffee addict! LOL
And I totally understand about the pricey coffee flavors, too. And as you already know, I e-mailed you (I think!) but I know I commented on your blog about the "Here's to You" post. Thank you SOOOO much! And you definitely chose a perfect song/video for me. I really did cry!

  9. I toyed with the idea of getting one of those. Now I make my one cup manually, with a cone strainer. You've made me crave a good cup of java!

    1. Hi Liza! Your idea with the strainer is a great one, too! Hope you took care of your craving soon after you wrote this! :)

    1. Hey Val ~ I think you and Kim (below) should both try those Soda Streams! And then let me know if it works....because I also love Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi...(I'm not picky!)...and I really prefer the fountain sodas I get at the gas stations, like you do!!

    1. Hi JJ ~ Thank you! And how kind to say you never get tired of reading about my memoir! (I tried to send you a "thank you" e-mail right after I read this yesterday, but both times, it failed. I was using my cell phone, so maybe that had something to do with it.)

  12. Becky, loved your headline - now I have the theme song from Rocky and Bullwinkle in my head!

I'm not a coffee drinker - I'm a Coke Zero addict. I wonder if the Soda Stream would be a good product for me to buy. I also enjoy a cup of tea (Lipton's will do, I don't need anything fancy).
