Sunshine and spring temperatures are timidly showing up here in Missouri, which are so welcome. But I'm happy to announce I'm visiting a hotter part of the country today
A huge Thank-You to Carol Kilgore for having me as her guest on this Monday in March. Carol is such a kind and generous blog friend, a wonderful author, and a gal who knows where to hang out...at the beach!
So, please hop on over, because Carol always says,
"So find a comfy chair, give your order to one of the cabana boys, and enjoy the
warm sea breeze blowing through your hair. We’re open day and night."
I promise you'll learn some new things about me. It's not the same old information you already know about me or my memoir! Honest!
"What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though." -- J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye
I found you via your guest posting today at Carol's site. I loved your story about meeting up with childhood friends and how it all looks the same, but different, when you go back as an adult. I, too, love and hate facebook. I suspect that most everyone feels that way about it! However, I am glad that it facilitated your search for the people you wanted to include in the memoir.
ReplyDeleteI'm your newest follower (the dog in the tree) and look forward to reading more! Have a great Monday:)
Hi Robin! Thank you so much for stopping to comment. I just read and replied to your comment over at Carol's, too! I'm glad to know you also have a love/hate thing going with facebook! I don't get on it very often and don't stay long, either. I much prefer blogging. And thank you so very much for becoming my newest follower!
DeleteHi Becky, I visited the Tiki Hut and enjoyed your post. The area I grew up in has changed a lot. Even though it was in farm country, there is now a McDonalds located in a field and doing a fine business. If you are ever in Maryland you can find that McD's at a little known place called Keysers Ridge, Maryland. Funny how your memories bring back memories I haven't thought about in years. Becky, "Thanks for the memories!"
ReplyDeleteHi Gigi Ann! I'm so happy to provide more memories for you! :)
DeleteAnd thank you for commenting at the Tiki Hut, too!!
Oh I love Carol's blog anyway.. on my way over!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie! Thank you!! And BTW, I love your new blog photo! You look great!
DeleteI'm so happy to have you at the Tiki Hut this week, Becky. Don't let the cabana boys misbehave too much :)
ReplyDeleteHi Carol! Thanks so much for having me at The Hut this week! :)
DeleteAnd I don't know if I can keep the cabana boys inline, when I'm drinking my margaritas along with them! LOL
I just went by to read it. Great job!

Thanks, Sheila!
DeleteHi Becky....I often check out your blog but not sure I've commented before. I visited the Tiki Hut and found your guest spot so interesting. I am going to try and obtain your book if I can (I am in Australia). I have been writing about my life every Tuesday on my own blog but I am sure it's not been as interesting as yours as mine was such a simple life. I too contacted 3 friends about 12 years ago that I'd worked with as a teenager and it was a wonderful get-to-gether. Unfortunately two of them have since passed away but I am still in contact with the third. We would have been in our late 60's when we met so had not seen each other for many years.
ReplyDeleteHi Mimsie! Thanks so much! And yes you CAN order my book from the Austraila Amazon. When I get to my computer in the morning I will look up the link for you....and hope you'll come back here, because I do not have your e-mail address.
DeleteOf course I've commented before, silly me!!
DeleteMy email address is mimsie@amnet.net.au if that will make it easier for you to send info re Amazon Australia. Thank you.
