  3. Oh he loves it. I have been taking Biscuit to Sonic for a Pup Cup trying to get her to be more window friendly. (She does not bark when I am out of car, but raises Cain when someone comes to window and I am inside.) Oh boy, it took her about two times before she realized they brought her Pup Cup!! Now she salivates when drive in a stall! They give you Pup Cup there for free too...better take Vern to Sonic!!!!

    1. Hey Bookie! Thanks so much for the info about Sonic! I didn't know about the Pup Cups, and there's a Sonic not too far from our house. I'll let you know after we go there! I'm so happy that Biscuit gets to go with you, too!

  4. Oh the memories. The small boy who lived next door to us when I was growing up used to (try to) share his ice-cream cone with our German Shepherd. His idea was a lick for him, a lick for her and so on. It was good that he always took the first lick. His only lick. But he kept trying.
    Vern is obviously more gentlemanly.

    1. What great memories!! I'm pretty sure that I did a bit of that sharing a cone with either Rocky or Tiger...and I was 30+ years old then! :)

  6. *Snap* at ECs comment. My brother used to do the same. a lick at the ice cream for R, then one for the dog, (our german shepherd), and so on until only the cone was left and R would always give it to the dog. . I don't know if ice cream is good for cats or not, but my Angel has had a tiny bit a couple of times, about a half a teaspoon.

    1. Hi River! I love your memories, too! I never thought about cats eating ice cream, but I guess they WOULD like it, especially since they like milk, right?

  7. I love these quotes Becky. Vern must have thought he went to Heaven. That's how I feel when I eat ice cream. My dogs have never had it. Maybe I'll treat them to some.

  12. That's so cute! My childhood dog was allergic to dairy so I couldn't give her ice cream, but she did like popsicles. I wish I'd taken a picture of her eating a popsicle.

    1. Hey ~ I'd forgotten about popsicles! I bet Vern would really like some bites of those, too! Don't feel bad about not having a picture of that. I certainly never had a camera with me at all times....even when I HAD a camera! Nowadays with cell phones that take pictures it's so easy to do, but I don't even think of it half the time.

  13. What a look of happiness on Verne's face. :-)

What reminds me of the good things in life? Being loved on by my animals who could care less what I look like at any given time, love me when I'm happy or sad, and make me laugh. Oh, and simple things, like coffee in morning, a flower blooming, birdsong, my husband cleaning the kitchen early morning before work when I slithered my exhausted self into bed the night before at 9, my 19 year old giving me a hug and saying, love you mom.

  14. I like the winking one.... I used to that with our old dogs, too - never thought it was a code, just thought it was funny :)

PS... You're not missing much at Starbucks and I don't think they let Vern in anyway - so their loss :)

Have a great ice-cream eating, dog-winking rest of the Memorial Day Weekend :)
