Cover of Susan Crandall's newest book: The Flying Circus |
I happened to come across Susan's offer to enter to win the charm by pre-ordering her newest book. I haven't purchased any new, hardcover books in a LONG time, but The Flying Circus sounded like a novel I'd enjoy, and with the chance to win the adorable charm, too, I jumped on the bandwagon. It comes out in early July, which unbelievably, is right around the corner.
*Note: As soon as I received my charm, I tried taking photos of it to post here, but couldn't get any that weren't blurry. (It's about 1/2" x 1/2". So cute!) And when I got out my "real" camera, (as opposed to cell phone camera) the battery was dead and would not charge, either. I happen to know I've been asking Santa for a new, really good camera for about 10 years now.....Looks like I better just go and buy it myself, huh?!
I'll be sure and post my thoughts about The Flying Circus as soon as I finish reading it!

Did you ever have a charm bracelet? Do you have one now? I'd forgotten that I had one until just the other day. I found it while digging through some old jewelry! It was such fun to look at again and remember why and where I got certain charms.
Thank you again, Susan Crandall! I can't wait to receive your newest book and begin reading it!
Have any of you read Susan's books? Please share your thoughts.
You are always a winner. And I am glad to hear that you got some recognition of that important fact.
ReplyDeleteI did have a charm bracelet. It drove me nuts. It was heavy and clanked and got caught on things. Some of the charms were gorgeous, but I couldn't bear wearing it.
Thank you, lovely Ms. EC! I didn't wear my charm bracelet very often, either. It bugged me, too. It slid up and down my arm because I have small wrists and got in my way when I did homework! LOL
DeleteOf course I had a charm bracelet...not too many charms though. True Confession (since we're taking a trip back in time) I had some serious charm bracelet envy for a friend's bracelet. It was so packed with charms that she could barley lift her arm.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Becky was a winner! Nice to know this charm went to a lover of prop planes. My dad few small planes, such happy memories!
Susan, thank you so much for having the giveaway! I'm thrilled that I won, as you already know!
DeleteCongratulations! It is fun being a winner. I just went to the WV Writer's conference and found out that my entries in their annual writing contest won first and second place in the children's category. I am still smiling. I can't remember if I ever had a charm bracelet or not, if so it was so long ago I've forgotten. Since you love those planes, it does sound like a book you would enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHi Janet! Congratulations on your writing contest winnings! That's wonderful!! I'm so happy for you!
DeleteThat charm definitely went to the right gal!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks Terra! :)
DeleteCongrats on your win. Perfect for you! I did have a charm bracelet. My parents gave it to me on my 18th birthday. By the time my Golden Retriever ate it 15 years later (yes, you read that right), my parents had added a couple more charms and my husband had, as well. I cried over the loss of that bracelet. It still makes me sad to think about it. Riley the dog was lucky I adored him so much! lol
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa! Oh how awful about your bracelet!! Wow, that was some kind of dog to eat metal/silver/etc!! And yes, he's very luck you loved his so much! :)
DeleteThis is so cool. How apt for you to win a little plane. I have one (you know which) right over my head as I sit before my desk. It's brought me much inspiration. You deserve to win so much Becky. Hope you do.
ReplyDeleteHi Myrna! Thanks! Yes, I know about the little plane at your desk! I'm happy to know it's brought you much inspiration, too!
