My apologies for not continuing this last night!
Well, I did sing and dance my way around the house yesterday for awhile, and that helped my mood considerably. But, what really got me back into my Writing Zone, was a documentary on HBO Family last night. It was almost half over when I happened upon the station, but those few moments were rejuvenating. It was "Hard Times for An American Girl: The Great Depression". The following is the description on the website:
"The very young and the very old teach and inspire each other in this documentary focusing on what it was like to grow up during the Great Depression. Children interview folksinger Pete Seeger, artist Faith Ringgold, poet Philip Levine, and others, and learn about how the 1930s changed their lives. Mixing archival films, photos and kids discovering history, this half-hour film is a meditation on happiness and survival during very hard times. Directed and produced by Amy Schatz."
As soon as it was over, I marched upstairs to my office and got down to bidness on my book! I settled down, settled in, and accomplished quite a bit. I'm feeling great today and I pledge to continue....feeling great and writing my book, that is!
Thanks so much to all of you who left such encouraging comments yesterday! They meant so much to me!

The Depression is a fascinating time period, and even more so with our current economic situation.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the awakening of your muse!
That is great, Becky! Good for you.

I love to find inspiration in unexpected places. As far as inspiration goes, get it wherever you can and hold on as long as possible :) Hope your writing has gone well today!
ReplyDeleteHi Becky...Hope you found lots of inspiration to write today! Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHi Pat. I agree with you. It's really hard to imagine living in such horrible conditions, and I'd like to learn more about it. My grandparents obviously lived through it, but nobody ever talked to me about it, and I was too young and/or dumb to think to ask.
ReplyDeleteHi Janel. Yes, so true. Inspiration usually comes when and where you least expect it! My writing IS going well, too. Thanks for your good wishes!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! Thanks for stopping by! I would have to say that, yes, I did find more inspiration today. It seemed to be wherever I looked, or wherever my mind wandered! :)
ReplyDeleteBecky, you've got to take your inspiration where you can find it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say hi Kathy, and thanks for stopping by to comment!
ReplyDeleteHi Walt! Great to hear from you! You are correct, sir! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are feeling great and keeping at that book, Becky. I think it is hard to keep on task when you work at home and alone and set your own hours, but it sounds like you're doing it just fine.
ReplyDeleteAwww....thanks, Daisy! You always brighten up my day (or evening!) whenever I hear from you!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture! ;) Is your coffee inspiring you, too? Hope so!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Becky.
ReplyDeleteIt was good to see you today at Saturday Writers.
Hope you have a great rest of your weekend!
