** Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! **
Today is the anniversary of Dr. Seuss' birthday. He was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts. How many of us have read his books?....either to ourselves, our children, and maybe our grandchildren. What a remarkable man.
Here is the official Dr. Seuss website.
*When I first posted this, I forgot to mention that it was my niece, Tammy, who alerted me to the fact that today is Dr. Seuss' birthday. She lives in Georgia and is a kindergarten teacher, so she knows all about these things! She e-mailed yesterday and said today was going to be a "Cat in the Hat" kind of day in her class room! Thanks, Tammy for keeping me informed!

One of my all time favorite authors! Loved reading his books as a kid and read them to my kids as well. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Daisy! Yes, and how about that every popular...." Green Eggs and Ham" ??
ReplyDeleteMy kids recently purged their bookshelves and gave me their Dr. Seuss books because they are too big for them. There is now way I'm getting rid of them, though! I used to be able to recite Mr. Brown Can Moo anytime, anywhere when my kids were toddlers and I still love spinning the book around to read All The Things You Can Think!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gift that man had! Is there anyone, anywhere who does not like Dr. Seuss!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janel. Oh yeah, hang on to those books! They'll be happy someday that you did!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, Anonymous! You forgot to leave your name! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Becky...There's a Dr. Seuss museum about an hour from where we live. I should go there sometime. Thanks for your post! Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteLove Dr. Seuss! My favorite quote (from memory, forgive me if not exact):
ReplyDelete"You have brains in your head
And feet in your shoes.
You can go in whatever
direction you choose."
Thanks, Pat! That's cute!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! Gosh, I'm glad I just looked at these comments again. I don't know how I forgot to respond to yours. My apology! That is so cool about living close to a Dr. Seuss Museum!! That really would be great if you would visit and write about it on your blog! Thanks for stopping by!
