Just verifying that it is now 1:30am, Wednesday morning, March 31st....and I'm still up, due to writing!
I've just finished, for tonight....uh...for this morning, a short fiction piece I've been working on. I'm so proud of myself, because I always say, I DO NOT WRITE FICTION, but I'm actually kind of happy with this. The deadline is today, but I do have a few more hours to get it "edited, completed, finished" and e-mailed!
Now...I think I'll call it a night...or, you know...whatever!

Well you've been a busy bee! Your post prior to this one was jam packed with good stuff, and after posting that you went back to more writing work (writing joy is probably more apt)! Hope you had a good sleep - sounds like you earned it.
ReplyDeleteCool! Good luck on the submission!
ReplyDeleteHope you got some sleep, Becky. How do you decide where to submit articles? Sincerely, Susan
ReplyDeleteHey Lisa! Thanks! You are correct...it was writing joy, not work! And I hated to finally stop and go to bed, because I wasn't sleepy. I don't know how late/early it was until I finally fell asleep. Then I had weird dreams, and Tiger got me up to go outside...I'm sure there's definitely a nap in my plan for today!
ReplyDeleteHi Pat! Thanks for the Good Luck! Now, I'm just stuck trying to think of a scathingly brilliant title!....I'm sure one will pop into my head, especially if I quit thinking about it!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! Thanks! Got a few winks, I think(s)!
ReplyDeleteIn answer to your question: It takes quite a bit of searching to decide where to send a submission. Before the actual writing even begins, I have to spend a lot of time online checking the sites that: A) appeal to me. B) accept MY kind of writing. C) have a deadline far enough away to have the time to write something. D) if it's a contest and not just an open submission, it needs to have either no entry fee or a very small one. Do those answer your question and make sense? As far as MY kind of writing goes.....I write personal essay/memoir type stories. I don't write fiction: mystery, horror, or suspense. And I don't normally write poetry, but I've given it a try. It's just best to "write what you know" and what you enjoy reading. Good Luck! Let me know where to send something!
Hope you had a good rest! You can write anything, including fiction, if you try. I'd say writing until 1:30 AM is definitely trying. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janel! I never thought of it that way! You've just given me a new perspective and a dollop of confidence!:)
ReplyDeleteSusan...P.S. I love your new photo! I keep forgetting to tell you!
ReplyDeleteMeant to tell you, I love your quotes and the new picture!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tammy! I have lots of fun searching for just the right quote, too!
