** It's a Tea Cup Tuesday **

I'm joining Martha's Favorites Tea Cup Tuesday, via Susan at Writing Straight from the Heart. I hope I'm doing all this correctly!

A couple of weekends ago, when my friends Sherry and Rita and I went on a Girls Weekend Getaway, we stopped at a couple of antique shops and flea markets. I searched  immense areas to find some pretty tea cup and saucer sets that were priced "just right"! This is one of my precious "finds"!
This is a demitasse size set and I just fell in love with it because of it's size and color of flowers, but also because of the fluted edges on the rim of the cup. Kind of petal-like, I think!
The top of the cup measures about 2 inches, and the plate about 4 inches.
I forgot to take pictures of the bottoms, but it just says: Hand Painted. Made in Japan.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my tea cup set!

  1. Becky,
This is a very pretty and unique tea cup, and I read somewhere that the Japan stamp increases its value. Looking at this cup makes me want to stick my pinky out.

  5. Hi Linda! Thanks! I forgot to mention how much I paid for this little gem...and it's funny, because I just couldn't decide at first if I wanted to pay "so much" for it, because the other ones I found at the same place were only between $3.00 and $6.00 a set! I paid $12.99 ....and I am SOOOOO glad I decided to buy it! :D

  9. These are so pretty! I love the fluted edges, but I can just imagine myself dribbling tea all over if I tried to drink from one. :) Those would definitely stay as decorative pieces in my house.

  11. That is oh so pretty. The edges are lovely and make it different from many teacups.

My girlfriends and I visited a tearoom a week or so ago. I love visiting tearooms and drinking one of the many different kinds of teas, and the food is great also. I wonder if the tea tastes so much better at the tearooms, because we always get to drink it out of those lovely teacups. hehe

  13. Yes, very petal like. The first thing I thought of (after "She's got something else for me to covet!") was roses. Beautiful. Great find.
