I wish I could say this is my pile of submissions, but alas...it's mostly junk mail and bills. I have a tendency to ignore that which I do not want to face. But, on top of those envelopes, are some notebooks and calendars which help me with my writing.....and yes, there is ONE anthology submission which I worked on so diligently yesterday afternoon and into the night! I AM writing again! I AM writing again!
(P.S. I inadvertently forgot to mention and welcome my two newest followers: Sandra and DanPloy. Thanks for becoming followers! I hope you enjoy visiting.)
“If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk?" Albert Einstein
ha! Loved that quote and photo of Einstein. Gives me hope, Becky. Susan
ReplyDeleteI loved the photo of your desk. I should take a picture of my desk (actually it's a table) at work sometime. It would make most people shudder. If a cluttered desk might be a sign of someone whose head is full of thoughts and creativity, then I must be the next Einstein! (ha)
ReplyDeleteIt is a great photo. My mess doesn't make it to the desk. I have piles of everything but submissions on the floor, in the corner, in the closet and some of them are even filed.
ReplyDeleteBased on your quotation, my mind is richly cluttered.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're wriing again. Other than my blog, I'm not and I want to. You're a good role model. Hopefully, I'll defeat procrastination soon.
Ha Becky! I just went through two enormous piles of papers and envelopes this morning. What I kept vs. what I threw away was pathetic. I wonder why we all let things like that pile up:) Glad to hear I am not the only one. And to hear you are writing again!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so good to always welcome your followers. I need to do that!
ReplyDeleteMy desk looks slightly better than yours, but only because I cram all the papers in the drawers and cubbies.
=)
Aloha Becky;
ReplyDeleteI think my dining table looks like your desk!
I enjoyed reading your post, TFS.
Ha! I just moved my stuff from one desk to another, so my space is blessedly clean...for now. A week from now I won't be feeling so squeaky.
ReplyDeleteBecky, now I know why I enjoy being in your presence. Great pic of Albert too.
ReplyDeleteyour desk is what my work desk looked like when i was working. i told people, i always knew where to find things. take care, glad you are back writing. rose
ReplyDeleteMy world generally seems to be rather messy, and I've never considered it a good thing. Perhaps I should look at it more positively!

Nice shot! And I loved the quote!
ReplyDeleteI constantly struggle with piles of papers. Maybe that's a good thing! HA!
ReplyDeletewow, busy desk!! and the quote is so true - if you are using your mind to create, why waste it cleaning? do what I do: when my desk gets too crowded I gently move the pile of papers to the bed (not mine, the extra bed in my home office) -as you said, mostly unopen mail and offers and stuff, but no time to file! good for your writing, two thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteI like OJ's suggestion (moving piles to a spare bed) but when the bed gets heaped to the ceiling, tubs are nice. They come in the huge variety, when they are filled and the lid is on, it makes you look organized. You just have to pray that nobody lifts the lid off...
ReplyDeleteAt first glance I thought that was a pile of wall board and you were remodeling your home. My desk looks pretty much the same by the end of every month, and on the first it is clutter free. The signb oif brilliance is a messy desk!
ReplyDeleteI think it is a great picture !I have similar piles around here and it always makes me feel like I have something going on:)
ReplyDeleteHi Becky!
ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding me of that quote. I now have a cubicle mate next to me all day who has an immaculate desk. I myself (a designer) well...talk about an intresting picture. *wink* I enjoy your blog everytime I visit. *hugs*
I LOVE THIS MESS OF PAPER...BECAUSE I AM A PAPER LOVER, NO WAIT, A PAPER FANATIC!
ReplyDeleteI'll take it in any way....even on screen, even in a mess...I'm lovin' it!
Happy to hear that you are writing, and inspired! I've been meaning to sit back down and write again...it's been quite long enough, I think....time to clutter up the brain and table surfaces! Thanks for your contageous inspiration!
Ciao Bella!
CREATIVE CARMELINA
So very glad to know that others have a desk that looks like mine! And no, no submissions here, either. Just incoming!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo....looks like one of my desks...
ReplyDeleteYea for you, your writing again!
Next month is Nanowrimo and I will be writing every single day to reach my goal of a 50,000 word novel before Nov 30th. This will be my third year and I love it.
What are you working on?
Hugs,
TErri
