* Getting Ready for Progressive Dinner *

I LOVE to have friends over for dinner, but we do it way too seldom. That's one thing I plan to do more of in 2011. My cooking definitely is not gourmet, but at least I can set a pretty table!
Tonight's progressive dinner begins at S's for appetizers, then here for the main course, and on to J's for dessert! (Yes, the table is set for eight. We're not stopping at R's house this year.) I hope all of you have had the chance to participate in one of these evenings. It is so much fun, especially during the holidays...seeing everyone's home decorated so beautifully!

More photos later tonight........

Now, I just hope Santa brings that new camera I really, really want! Wouldn't you agree that I need one?!

  6. Hi Becky, what a wonderful idea. Your table is beautiful. What did you fix? Will Santa be reading your blog so he knows you would like a new camera? I will remind him on my blog too:)

  8. I haven't thought of progressive dinners in years. My parents used to do them, but I have never had the privilege/fun...Have you been naughty or nice? Your answer dictates whether you get a camera or not...

  14. Lovely table - and how fun going to different places for the different courses. I'll have to think about that sometime.

  15. how nice! a pretty table for me is as important as a good bottle of wine and good food - it makes everything taste much better (and makes me feel so important!) - I hope you had a blast!!

  16. Thank you everyone! We had a great time, although one of the couples couldn't make it at the last minute. I fixed the main course...pot roast in the crockpot, plus potatoes, carrots, corn, rolls, etc. We plan to do this more often! Oh, and thanks, too for the wishes that I DO get a camera from Santa!!
