You know about going to a dollar store intending to buy just a couple of things?? Well, when I went to Dollar Tree today, my "couple of things" turned into about 35 things. They were all vital necessities, though....you gotta believe me....except for this little lady below. She's one of those 6-inch-tall-ceramic-pieces-of-art that I normally would not care to buy....but she made me laugh, so I had to bring her home, too! AND, she was among other little statuettes that were priced
2 for $1.00.
Look how she's standing!! She looks like she's SCRATCHING HER BUTT!!
Plus, she has a look of discomfort on her face!! I swear!!
Nothing like a 50¢ item to just make my day...and hopefully yours, too! ☺
“I base most of my fashion taste on what doesn't itch.” -- Gilda Radner
I bet after she was done scratching, she'd have a smile on her face!
ReplyDeleteThose petticoats must have been scratchy!
she's cute! I love finding stuff like that at Dollar Tree.
ReplyDeleteHilarious! Love the purchase. I suggest designing some tiny accessories for her -- dressing her up for every holiday occasion. Would Barbie clothes fit her? Oh... I suppose not. (Alas) At the very least, a tiny tube of preparation H at her feet might be a nice touch...
ReplyDeleteWith a hiney that big, maybe she's just having an uplifting experience.
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious. It certainly made me smile this morning! Kat
ReplyDeleteThis girl is grateful for your conern. Its the season that has done her in, Becky. You know... the time of year when we all get "a little behind" in our lives!
ReplyDeleteShe is 'cracking' me up! She does not look like a happy camper...thus the reason she was at the dollar store and only 50 cents! I love a good laugh!
ReplyDeleteYou sure put a smile on my face this morning!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! You all are cracking me up! Some of the comments are just like the ones on Microfiction Monday pictures! That never occurred to me.
ReplyDeleteAnd to those who got a smile or laugh....YAY! That was indeed my wish!
haha It does look like she is scratching her butt!
ReplyDeleteNot lady-like at all. I love that you find humor where least expected.
ReplyDeleteha ha ha ha ha ha I LOVED "Scratchin' Sally." She's my kind of gal. Can't blame her. Those dresses with the big poufs must have been brutal to wear. Hilarious post, Becky! Susan
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteThis so funny! Maybe she needs some Preparation H?
Thanks for making me laugh!
Kathy
She is DEFINITELY at the "pre-dig" stage...
ReplyDeleteI never thought before this moment about how miserable it must have been to have an itch while wearing a bustle. Like wearing a cast on your butt.
ReplyDeleteI love the Dollar Tree, too. I always end up with three times as many things as I needed. But I almost never regret the purchases.
That is so funny. Have you ever noticed how when you try to shop for others at Christmas you ALWAYS end up finding things you just have to buy for yourself???
ReplyDeleteAloha Becky,
ReplyDeleteYou're too funny! Looking at the photo, your figurine's face looks a little swollen so maybe she has anaphylactic shock. hehehe.
Merry Christmas!
Really just makes you wonder what the artist who created this was thinking! Where was it made? I wonder if it was in a different country if manners and decorum are different...:P
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend,
Karen
Personally I am very curious how anyone can spend $35 at the dollar store. Not doubting it can be done, but if I was on a game show even with other people's money...well, maybe with other people's money...
ReplyDeleteI have done the same thing. If I see something that makes me smile I know it is worth even a buck or two.
You have to wonder what the designer was thinking with that mold. Do you think that they do things like this just to be funny, or that they did not look at their own work very well. So goes the assembly line. At least she has found her way to loving habds.
ReplyDeletealas, i have not been to your blog lately. bad c.c. but i'm here now! and can i say your background is lovely! and i dig this post. she does indeed appear to be scratching her ass. cheap amusement is the best. :]

Thanks again everyone! I love your comments!!
ReplyDeleteAh, but in that dress, scratching your butt is still so ladylike.
ReplyDelete:)
Lady-like or not, some itches simply have to be scratched!

Oh my gosh, this is too funny!!! Maybe next Christmas you will find the cute little man statue to go with her...dare I say what he will be scratching?!!
ReplyDeleteAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Oh my, this gave me a good laugh, Becky! Thanks for sharing it. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lydia, Pat, Tammy & Daisy!! Glad you all liked "her"!! :)
ReplyDeleteHey, guess what! I was at the $ store, too! I went in for boxes to put Christmas presents in and came out with boxes, double-exposed Partridge in a Pear Tree holiday gift wrap that only a mother could love (<--Mrs. Claus perhaps?); two fake and oddly feathered white birds (possible molting, if fake birds even do that) with mis-positioned eyes, those of which will pass for two turtle doves (<-The birds, not the eyes!); and a Styrofoan "pear" big-glitter accented to look like a drunk disco ball-fruit. I'm going to "do up" one of my daughter's presents to look like Christmas-cRAy! (<--It's something she looks forward to each year; I wouldn't want to let her down. LOL!) But your butt-itching, porcelain Barbie definitely trumps my measlies! P.S. Next time I go Dollar Storing, look me up. I'll be the one wearing the water-squirting faux carnation. Tee-hee!
ReplyDeleteP.P.S. Love the Gilda quote! <--blog "frosting" to be sure!
it's hard toget out of the dollar tree store with few purchases. the lady was a great buy. do you think her butt may be sore from sitting ? rose
