Blogs and Books and Give-Aways

One of my favorite blogs is WOW! Women on Writing Blog - The Muffin. Today's post is about a new book (and interview with) Pesi Dinnerstein. I love the cover and title! A Cluttered Life: Searching for God, Serenity, and My Missing Keys. The interview is really interesting and Pesi seems like someone I'd like to have as my best friend!

The Muffin is having a give-away for Pesi's book and all you have to do is leave a comment, but be quick, because you must do it before Thursday, January 19th, at 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time!

Another new and innovative website & blog is: Celery Tree and Celery Tree Blog.  Also, check out: Coming Down the Mountain: A Writer's Blog, by Karen Gowen.

Here's what it says on the Celery Tree Blog: A website for authors to network, market, and sell your books. Leave the jungle. Join our village. Sounds awesome!

I'm excited to announce that I'm finally buying a memoir I've been so curious about. It's written by one of my wonderful writer blog friends - Ann Best. The title is In The Mirror and has received rave reviews on Amazon. I'm sending the check directly to Ann, though, so I can get a signed copy!

** Announcement **
I'll be having a give-away later this week or first of next week. Stay tuned for all the info!

“Sometimes people say to me, “I want to write, but I have five kids, a full-time job, a wife who beats me, a tremendous debt to my parents,” and so on.

I say to them, “There is no excuse. If you want to write, write. This is your life. You are responsible for it. You will not live forever. Don’t wait. Make the time now, even if it is ten minutes once a week.” -- Natalie Goldberg

  5. How lovely of you to mention me and my book, Becky! I'm anxious to get your response when you read it. Of course I hope you'll like it :o).

And Celery Tree is a great idea to help writers. I'm in it, and will do a guest post about it at Mason Canyon's Thoughts in Progress this Friday and again on Monday on my own blog. I'm now only posting on Wednesdays, but occasionally I go outside this day, and for Celery Tree this is one of them!

Thanks for the link to Women on Writing. I'm heading over there now.

  16. Found you at Tiny Lights, with a tiny one there of my own. Love your blog, Love In The Mirror, read many, many memoirs concluding my own this year.

I blog at www.makeminememoir.blogspot.com, mostly talking to myself. But that is good for me, marshaling my thoughts about the thing I'm doing. in the winter of my years I am discovering who I have been while discovering who I really am.

I'm off fo Celery Tree. I need all the help I can get!

  17. Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for stopping and commenting. For some of you, just the fact that Blogger "allowed" your comments is quite a feat! :)

I always truly appreciate all of you, and I try to get to as many of your blogs as I can. Even if I don't comment, I hope you understand, and will be pleased knowing I was there....reading and enjoying your posts.

I must say a special Hello and Thank You to Barbarann! It's always so fun to hear how someone happened upon a blog!

I'm still getting quite a few spam comments that are Anonymous, so I'm trying "User with Google Accounts." If anyone tries to comment that I know, and it won't let you, send me an email, okay? Thanks so much.
