Have I mentioned that I'm just in the beginning stage of writing a sequel to my memoir? I have so many stories yet to tell and it just wouldn't work to include them all in one book.

I fiddled around with a couple of possible titles for it, and then it occurred to me too, that if readers like the first book enough, and the second book, maybe I could write a third, and thus have a series. But, my focus right now, of course, is publishing From Pigtails to Chin Hairs: A Memoir & More.
Here's the titles I came up with today for possible sequel(s).
From High Heels to Old Lady Shoes: A Memoir & More.
From Spiked Heels to Sensible Shoes: A Memoir & More.
From Skate Keys to Car Keys: A Memoir & More.
I'd love to know your thoughts and ideas on any of this. Please leave a comment!

As you know, I am really sorry for the delay. I was/am excited at ghe prospect of getting my hands on Pigtails to...
ReplyDeleteYou finish the first volume at Chin Hairs. Does the next volume follow on from it - or are you stepping back in time a little? If the volumes are not sequential then I like Spiked Heels to Sensible Shoes, but if they are sequential then it needs to progress (shudder) from the dreaded chin hair.
I like the Spiked Heels one too. Sorry publication won't happen as quickly as you had hoped.
ReplyDeleteBecky, I'm sure you'll soon get your book published.
ReplyDeleteAs for the sequel, I kind of liked "From Spiked Heels to Sensible Shoes". Alliteration is always awesome.

From Diapers to Diapers???? No, that's too depressing lol.
ReplyDeleteSorry I wasn't able to help out with publication costs, Becky. Since Dave retired, we are holding the purse strings a little tighter. And December is always the worst time for us because of the insane property taxes in CA. Why do they have to come due right when people are trying to buy Christmas presents??
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I hope something works out soon!
As for the sequel, I like the same one K9 did, and I laughed at Delores's comment.
=D
Becky I'm so sorry this didn't work out but I know you will find a way to publish your book! I like skate key to car keys myself! Best Wishes and hey tomorrow is your Birthday right???
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
I hope things work out and you are able to get your book published.
ReplyDeleteI love your attitude Becky. Of course your book will be published. Can't wait to read it. I really like the quote.
ReplyDeleteHi EC! No, my memoir is not sequential. It's little vignettes of different times in my life, and that's how I'll write the next one(s).
ReplyDeleteHi Daisy! Thank you. I'm kind of leaning toward the Spiked Heels, too!
ReplyDeleteHey Pat ~ Thanks for your vote, too! Looks like "Spiked Heels" is winning!
ReplyDeleteDelores, you are hilarious!!! LOL ...How about this one: "From Diapers to Depends" :D
ReplyDeleteI don't think the Depends people would let me use their word, though!
Hi Sue! No apologies needed. I totally understand!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda...thank you! And hey...now we have a vote for the Skate Keys title! And yes...tomorrow, the 6th, is the BIG day.... ugh..
ReplyDeleteHi Beth! No worries...it will happen, just will take a bit longer than I'd hoped. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Myrna ~ You've always been one of my best supporters...Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteHEY DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO CHANGE THE "REPLY" THINGY TO GO RIGHT AFTER EACH PERSON'S COMMENT? I'VE LOOKED AND LOOKED AND CAN'T FIND IT.....
ReplyDeleteI think this will give you the option to reply.

Hi Becky. Do hope you get your first book published soon. Good luck with it! Because I live in England, I would like the title for your second book to be From High Heels to Sensible Shoes. Only because we don't really say spiked heels over here!! Wishing you and yours a very happy and healthy (and successful!) new year.
ReplyDeleteStarting your sequel! That's amazing. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteHappy new Year!
Hi Becky. Don't EVER give up! I like from Skate Keys to Car Keys. Hope your weekend is great. Susan
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet e-mail, Becky. Believe me, if I had Mr. Trump's number, I'd have been inundating him on behalf of "Pigtails."
ReplyDeleteIt's still on my short list of must reads, but the way! :)
And re. the sequel? I can soooo identify with "Spiked Heels to Sensible Shoes." (darn it!)
Hugs,
Myra
Another vote for Spike Heels to Sensible Shoes. It speaks to me.
ReplyDeleteBECKY-O ~
ReplyDeleteI like both "Spiked Heels" and "Skate Keys" a great deal! I think either one would make a terrific title.

Hi Becky,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry the Kickstarter project didn't work out, but I know you will get your memoir published, and I will gladly buy a copy after it's in print.
As far as titles for a sequel, the Spiked Heels and Sensible Shoes title is catchy, but then again so is the Skate Keys to Car Keys.
Okay, I changed to Embedded Comments, (just as Blogger Help said to do and as a couple of kind people suggested...and it does look different, but I don't see where I'm supposed to comment on each one individually. Someone suggested it might be because of my personalized template. Any other ideas or suggestions? Or am I just not seeing it?

ReplyDeleteokay...testing...
ReplyDeleteNope...I just don't get it. I guess I'm not supposed to have that comment function! Oh well...
ReplyDeleteOh,sorry you didn't reach your goal. When you publish it, I will be happy to feature you on my site.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Becky! Sorry that I am so late on getting my pledge for the Kickstarter in, I was going to donate today for certain. Do you want me to go ahead or will it just be returned at this point? Like Teresa, I will help you promote your book in anyway that I can. I'll do like I did for Hart, buy a copy for myself and one for a contest to give away.
ReplyDeleteLove ya!
Kathy M.
I'm stopping by to say Happy Birthday my friend! I hope you are having the best day ever! Sweet birthday hugs coming your way...from Florida, your buddy, Diane
