Here's What You've Been Waiting For!

I'm only posting these photos now because I know my family and friends will understand my non-perfect house! So far, the only two rooms that are showable are the living room and the kitchen!

One wall of the living room. This is my favorite part of the room! A comfy chair, large bookcase, and behind the chair is a small radio/CD player. The paper wreath over the chair was made by one of my daughters-in-law! Click on the photo for a larger view. After my book is in print, she's going to make a different one from its pages!

Another wall in the living room. As you can see, to the right is the kitchen and to the left is a hallway. The three pencil sketches above the love seat were drawn by my deceased sister, Jo Ann, in 1973. I had them hanging in the upstairs hallway in our previous house, which was silly because nobody ever saw them.

Another wall in our living room...complete with Vern on the couch! The Peace Sign blanket is his personal one! From the moment I saw that framed picture years ago, I was in love with it! But again, it had been hanging in a room where it wasn't seen very often. It's as if we have new furniture and accessories here!

Here's one view of our kitchen. I really love the huge windows we have in every room. (The Baker's Shelf is NOT finished being "decorated." Right now, it's full of junk!)

~~~
That's about it for now. Every day seems to fly by and I get a few more things accomplished. It's probably going to be a LONG time before I can post any bedroom/office photos!
* Welcome to my newest follower McGuffy Ann, from McGuffy's Reader. It hope you'll stop by often and always enjoy what you read and see! *
  1. I can see why you like that picture. Did you notice in your first photo you have what appears to be orbs?
    1. Hi Patti! Thanks much! It's funny that you say that about the furniture. Those two pieces are SO old! They just haven't been used in TEN years!! They were in our loft at the other house, and rarely seen or used. Sad....way too big of a house and we are so happy to not be there anymore! :)
      Thanks for your wishes of love and joy, also!
    1. Hi Joyful! Thank you so much! And yes, it's plenty big enough for us. And I've come across a few things I'd either completely forgotten about....or had been searching for...for years!!
  6. Lookin' good, Becky! It looks like you've lived there a long time, with all the pictures hung.
    We have a floral couch, too - and I'd love a wing chair for snuggling in to read!
    You're well on your way to getting it organized just the way you want!
    1. Thanks Kim! Yes, the pictures on the walls are the finishing touches, aren't they? One room "pretty-much-finished"....three more to go! My chair always makes me think of that song....All I want is a room somewhere....with one enormous chair...Oh, wouldn't it be loverly?!
  9. Yay! Very pretty, Becky. Downsizing is hard work. Glad that you guys are happy with your new place, and how nice that you are displaying your sister's art where you can see it often.
  10. It's great that things are coming together in your new abode!
    Hm...Hick painted one wall of our living room in that color. The carpet looks like our living room carpet. We had butcher-block countertops in our old house. Our kitchen chairs are the same style. And I'm not sure what's behind Vern's shoulder, but it looks like an afghan we have on the back of the couch.
    You have much better taste in artwork!
  20. Love these pics, thank you for sharing! I can now imagine where you sit, and blog, and write from :) Those large windows are every writer's dream, I think *daydreams of her own home, of someday*
    I really like the drawings, that light captured so perfectly in that picture, and the baker's shelf! I want one of those shelves! :)
  21. From somebody who has moved so often I sometimes can't remember what state I'm in (aside from the state of confusion), the advice is to feel the new place out and decorate slowly as you decide what suits best - and DO display the things that make you feel comfy and soothe the soul. Looks like you are doing just that!
  22. Lovely! And Vern looks very content all sacked out on the couch. :)
