While driving to the grocery store this afternoon, with my list of fruits and veggies to buy, the following words popped into my head. I've mentioned before that I am not a poet, and don't y'all know it, as you can see below:
(Hint: Sing out loud or in your head to the tune of ♫♪ Back in the Saddle Again. ♫♪)
I'm back into salads again.
Burgers & fries won't make me thin.
I saw some gorgeous clothes at
the mall last week.
I must fight this war on fat and win.

Chorus:I'm back into salads again.
Lettuce & broccoli are my friends
Also low cal dressing will help
Try to get rid of my chin(s)
I'm back into salads again.
(Forgive me Gene Autry!)
"The two biggest sellers in bookstores are the cookbooks and the diet books. The cookbooks tell you how to prepare the food and the diet books tell you how not to eat any of it." -- Andy Rooney
Cute post ;-) Hope you're feeling back to your upbeat self soon. Hugs. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear Joyful! I actually AM back to my old self! Hugs back to you! :)
DeleteYou lie like a pig in mud. Whatever you post, we will be happy to see (unless you tell us you are leaving).
ReplyDeleteCan we do anything to put the bounce back in Becky?
Hey EC! You are so funny! This made me smile the first time I read it, and I'm sure it had a lot to do with me getting my bounce back! :)
DeleteWe too hope you are now your usual upbeat self. Have a super Saturday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Thank you, Molly! My weekend was good. Got some (much needed)things resolved. :)
DeleteNoooooooo....not the salad days again.
ReplyDeleteDelores ~~ I laughed out loud when I read your comment! Guess you are one who remembered it from the first time??!! :D
DeleteI love it! What would we do without a little humor. Now to the serious -I, too, have always read that cookbooks are a big seller. At lease I hope so. I have been working on one for a while now and someday hope to publish it. My problem is that I have too many pots on the stove and need to get one finished and sent to the table for people to (hopefully) enjoy. :o)
ReplyDeleteHi Janet! Glad you liked it! Wow -- you're writing a cookbook! I think that would really be a LOT of work? At least for me, it would! Good luck with it and be sure and let me know when it's for sale!
DeleteMy life has become a perpetual diet guilt trip, especially in this yucky hot weather which makes ice cream all the more tempting.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel back to your old self soon. Maybe I'll see you at SW this morning??

Hi Pat! I'm glad we were able to talk a bit at the SW meeting. There never is enough time to just chat when we're there. And yes, I'm back to my old self. Thanks!
DeleteDont be hard on yourself Becky. Better days ahead.
ReplyDeleteI have had three weeks with sciatic hip and having to use a cane.
Real bummer. I just have to go on.
Life is too short. So i love to do art. So this is where I have sat most days.
Loves Ya!
Hello Sparkle 100! How wonderful to see your name in my comments! And thank you for your inspiring words. You were right, too....my better days already arrived! :)
Deleteha ha hahahah Yup, Becky, that was funny. Susan
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan! Always happy to provide a laugh or two! :)
DeleteHa. This is really cool. I'll have to remember when I buy my veggies to sing this.
ReplyDeleteHope your mood lifts soon.
Hi Myrna! Thanks! Yes, I'd love to see and hear you sing this while you're purchasing your veggies! :D
DeleteI love the Andy Rooney quote. And I hope you're soon feeling your "old" creative self again, Becky. I just have to read your side bar of your published works, and I pull the keyboard towards me again! (((Hugs))) Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Jo! Thanks for always being such a sweetie! Big hugs back to you, way across the ocean!
DeleteCute, cute, cute!!! No doubt, there are produce sorters n' sprayers in stores across the country who're in for a surprise when this song takes hold. Let's start a movement! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Myra! I love your idea! We could make our own commercials! LOL
DeleteFunny post for someone who has nothing to say! Loved the Back in the Salads. Tickled my funny bone, and not bad poetry (lyrics). Thanks for this Labor Day chuckle.
ReplyDeleteM.L. Swift, Writer
Hi Mike! I'm so glad you liked this and it gave you a chuckle! But, really....I had nothing to say, and this was a repost! :)
DeleteHi Becky. I've been away from reading blogs for a while, and I've clearly been missing some great laughs here. You may not feel like you have something to say, but whatever you write makes me happy to read.
ReplyDeleteDeb! How wonderful to see your happy face and read your lovely comment! So happy you stopped by. I've been really bad about reading and commenting on other blogs, too. I totally understand! Hugs..
DeleteHello everyone! I thank all of you for your wonderful comments, and I promise to come back later and reply to each one individually. I just posted my Nostalgic Sunday and will be back online soon!
ReplyDeleteLook how creative you are when your mind is a'wandering!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie! Yep, ya never know what I might come up with!
DeleteFun song! Varying moods isn't a bad thing - it provides perspective. You'll soon be happy/silly again.
ReplyDeleteHi Marcia! What a neat surprise seeing YOU here!! Thanks much for stopping and commenting. Wise words, as usual, too. And yes, I'm my happy/silly self again! :D :o
