On Sunday, August 11th, I posted pictures of a darling set of S&P Shakers: a miniature teapot and tea cup. A very good friend gave them to me as a house warming gift. The same day she gave those to me, she also gave me my (belated!) birthday gift: a Hallmark gift book, Humor for Boomers, Older and Wiser, (and Funnier!) It's full of humorous sayings and cartoons. The one below is one of my favorites!
Have a wonderful Sunday and blissful last week in August!
That little cartoon reminds me in a way of my hubs and myself.
ReplyDeleteHi Delores! My husband is not computer literate and asks me the funniest questions about the internet!
DeleteWhat a thought-full friend you have there, Becky!
ReplyDelete... this 'toon made me laugh out loud!
Wishing you a sweet new week!
Hugs,
Myra
Hi Myra! How good to see you!! And yes, I have quite a few thoughtful friends that I'm very thankful to have. Glad this made you laugh out loud! I did the same!!
DeleteWishing you a wonderful new week, too!
Have a serene Sunday and make time for some big easy we say.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Hi Molly! Thanks, I did have a serene Sunday! :)

DeleteThat reminds me of my parents - ha! Don't tell them I said that!Have a great week Becky -- Karen
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! Like I said to Delores, it reminds me of my husband and myself! LOL
DeleteBig (and loud) smiles here. This morning my calendar says 'If I wanted to hear the patter of little feet in the house, I'd put shoes on my cat.' And I decided I wouldn't.
ReplyDeleteHi EC! You're making me have big and loud smiles!! LOL
DeleteHi there Becky. Hope you are well settled into your new home now! (or have you still got unpacked boxes still secretly hidden away somewhere?!!). I love little books like your friend gave you and that cartoon is priceless. Just the sort of thing I would do (LOL!(. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHello Diane! We are 99% settled in, I would say. And only a few boxes still sitting around...but not hidden! :)
DeleteI love little gift books, too....and I love the cartoon! Wishing you a lovely week.
LOL, Becky!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! I love your comment! It's all that is "needed!"
DeleteTee-hee! Of course, the microwave does heat the food. Therefore any self-respecting dog would find the microwave fascinating!

Critter Alley
Hi Pat! I think I'm confused.... LOL!
DeleteHa ha ha ha ha That was a funny one, Beck. His blog posts must be "toast." ha hahahha Susan
ReplyDeleteSusan, you are one hilarious woman!! That is a great line!
DeleteIt is tough to get to all the blogs I'd like. I try to parcel it out throughout the day-- some days I do that better than others!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie! You do a much better job than me. I keep telling myself that one day this week, (which I say EVERY week!)I'm going to do nothing but read and comment on others' blogs. Ahhhh....good intentions! :)
DeleteThe saddest thing is I think I have once stood in front of the toaster oven - for FIVE minutes - listening to the tick tick of the *mechanical* timer before I realized the darn plug was not even in the outlet.
ReplyDeleteI later enjoyed a microwaved Hot Pocket.
Too funny, Mark! And hey, are you a Jim Gaffigan fan?????
DeleteHow cute. Love the cartoon LOL.
ReplyDeleteHi Julie! Thanks! I knew you'd love the cartoon, too :)
DeleteBecky...I'm always behind in my blog visiting. Case in point...this one!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words on my blog. I'm a closet memoir writer and that entry came out of the woodwork. I actually have another blog that I'm developing as a memoir blog. It's still under wraps.
LOVE cartoons like that. That describes ME with the smartphone incident I wrote about. I'm so techo-dumb.
M.L. Swift, Writer
Hi Mike! Hey, no problem whatsoever on the blog visiting. I am ALWAYS way behind and many times don't show up at all. I just can't seem to stay focused and organized. (see my chicken button above!)
DeleteI'm quite techno dumb, too. I have a Blackberry cell phone and refuse to get any of those "new fangled" ones!
Have a great rest of the week and weekend.
PS I would love to read your memoir blog!
What a great cartoon! Hope you're having a wonderful week yourself, thank you for the wish :)
ReplyDeleteHi Estrella! Thanks for stopping by! And remember...I love those shoes!! :)
DeleteHA! I loved this! I once went to the microwave thinking it was the printer! Thank you for your encouraging comment on my blog this morning!
ReplyDeleteHi Betty! I do those kinds of kooky things a lot, too! :)
