I got nothing tonight. I'm so overwhelmed with things that need to be done, things that should be done, and those things I want to get done. ("get done"?)
This pertains to all aspects of my life: home, family, friends, writing.....
Marketing my book is kicking my you-know-what. The piles of laundry (for only two people) are taking over. Dust Bunnies are everywhere. (whoever came up with that phrase?) And to be precise, those would be Dust Verns. There are tumbleweeds of light brown/blonde hair everywhere.
So, as I said, I got nothing for my blog tonight....except some cartoons I came across when I Googled Auntie Acid. Hope they provide smiles and/or laughter! They certainly brightened up my evening!
“I don't trust anyone who doesn't laugh.”
― Maya Angelou
“And I have one of those very loud, stupid laughs. I mean if I ever sat behind myself in a movie or something, I'd probably lean over and tell myself to please shut up.”
― J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye
“If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane.”
― Robert Frost
“There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor.”
― Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol
“With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come.”
― William Shakespeare
Laughter is the sound of the soul dancing. My soul probably looks like Fred Astaire.”
― Jarod Kintz, This Book is Not for Sale
I needed the laughs. Thanks. Did not sleep last night and really groggy today and had some issues to face. Geezz Louise, I am ready for a smooth road for a while! At least no ice or snow today!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to provide some laughs! We can never laugh too much, can we?! I'm sorry you've had such a difficult winter and I hope things turn around really soon for you!
DeleteLOL!! I am smiling!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beth! Glad to be of service! :)
DeleteCute quotes, like that last one. Let the dust bunnies run free while you market your book. To me, book marketing is something of a mystery, and I say this as I do quite a lot of it.
ReplyDeleteTerra, thank you for your advice on the dust bunnies.....and the marketing!
DeleteThat elicited a good few laughs for me ! I all know about those "nothing to post" times but you sure came up with a good one today! Thanks. Please could you mail me [again, sorry *) the link to Chicken Soup for the Soul? Do you think the title: I can't believe my ... [cat/dog] did that is still out? (((Hugs))) Jo
ReplyDeleteGlad you laughed, Jo! I just e-mailed you the Chicken Soup link, plus some other info. Hugs....
DeleteYou have NEVER, but never got nuffing.
ReplyDeleteLove the laughs (though some made me wince in rueful recognition).
Take care of yourself.
Hey EC ~ Glad you had some laughs and I, too, recognize those!! That's why I chose them....hee hee! Thanks for all your encouragement!
DeleteThanks for the morning laughs and no worries the dust bunnies are going nowhere....big sigh. Have a tremendous Thursday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Hi Molly The Wally ~ You're very welcome for the morning laughs! :)
DeleteBut, the dust bunnies....THAT's exactly why I worry.....they AREN'T leaving on their own! LOL
Well, seeing as you had nothing, you've done very well in giving us a big smile! I had never heard of dust bunnies before I heard it from my American friends. But, then, you ARE a funny lot!! LOL!!! Love the pretty background on your blog by the way. It is so important to smile and have a good laugh, even at ourselves! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteHi Diane! Thank you...you're such a sweetie! That's interesting about "dust bunnies" not being familiar to you until you met us wacky Americans! I'm glad you like the newer background. I just love books, as you know...LOL...and also the colors are such pretty pastels!
DeleteBut dust bunnies are such cute little things!
ReplyDeleteHi Jane! Your comment made me laugh!! Maybe YOUR dust bunnies are cute....but like I said, mine aren't "bunnies," mine are doggies! :)
DeleteCan always use a good laugh.
ReplyDeleteGlad to be of service, Delores! :)
DeleteThanks for making me smile today! I can relate to busy - going in numerous directions lately myself. As for dust bunnies, well, I think mine are your dust bunnies' cousins. We should encourage them to have a family reunion elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteHang in there. Have a good weekend! :)
Hey Karen! Glad I gave you a smile, and you sure gave me one, too.....a dust bunny family reunion! LOL
DeleteBecky, of course I think of you often. I can imagine how busy you are. I think the consideration of the marketing of a book is one of the things that discourages me from proceeding with mine. Thanks for the laughs though. Hope you chuckle a little too.
ReplyDelete(Becky, I suspect you didn't receive my last email. Please don't worry about responding. Let the dust settle, be calm and know that I know we're connected by friendship.)
Hi Myrna ~ Thanks for your encouragement...and reminder! :)
DeleteI may not have JD's talent, but I do share his laugh!
ReplyDeleteOh, Elizabeth, that is so funny!! I think we need a "Laugh" audio thing or something!! Do you have various laughs? I do! It depends on the humor I see/hear at the time!
DeleteThe payslip hits a little too close to home LOL. Sorry you're so overwhelmed, Becky. Marketing really does suck, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laughs!
Hi Julie! Thanks! You know, marketing wouldn't suck if I was selling hundreds/thousands of books, would it?! :)
DeleteMu soul looks like Steve Martin in "The Jerk." Love you, Miss Bea!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Judie! That's a great soul ~~ I'd say I have a bit of that in mine, too! I LOVE that movie!! :)
DeleteVern's hairballs mean that Spring is on the way! So think of them as cheery little warm fuzzies.
ReplyDeleteI'm pondering why you would Google the term "Auntie Acid" ... hmm. Sounds like what my kids would have called my sister back in the day ...
Hi Marcia! Thanks so much for stopping and commenting! I really appreciate it! I love your thoughts on Vern's "hairballs!" :)
DeleteAnd I Googled Aunty Acid, because she's a lot like Maxine, and I couldn't find any Maxine that suited me!
Life always seems so hectic, doesn't it? Sometimes you simply must take 5 (or 10). Missed seeing you today, but hopefully we can get together soon!

Critter Alley
Hi Pat ~ Thanks so much. I missed seeing you, too. I AM better this evening, but still just don't feel like myself. I think I need about 5 more days, in a row, like today...weather-wise, and then I'll be back to my old self!
DeleteHey, that laughing, sneezing, peeing one isn't funny! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Julie! I thought that one was THE funniest!! LOL
Delete(and yes, the truth hurts, but what can ya do....but laugh at it?!)
I enjoyed those - she is a funny gal too. Did you have a good weekend? Thanks for the laughs. sandie
ReplyDeleteHi Chatty! Glad you liked them. She's a lot like Maxine, who I also like, ya know! And yes, had a good weekend....didn't do much, just rested, but guess I needed it!
