I GOT NOTHING EXCEPT FUNNIES

I got nothing tonight. I'm so overwhelmed with things that need to be done, things that should be done, and those things I want to get done. ("get done"?)
This pertains to all aspects of my life: home, family, friends, writing.....

Marketing my book is kicking my you-know-what. The piles of laundry (for only two people) are taking over. Dust Bunnies are everywhere.  (whoever came up with that phrase?) And to be precise, those would be Dust Verns. There are tumbleweeds of light brown/blonde hair everywhere.

So, as I said, I got nothing for my blog tonight....except some cartoons I came across when I Googled Auntie Acid. Hope they provide smiles and/or laughter! They certainly brightened up my evening!

“I don't trust anyone who doesn't laugh.”
Maya Angelou

“And I have one of those very loud, stupid laughs. I mean if I ever sat behind myself in a movie or something, I'd probably lean over and tell myself to please shut up.”
J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

“If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane.”
Robert Frost

“There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor.”
Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol

“With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come.”
William Shakespeare

Laughter is the sound of the soul dancing. My soul probably looks like Fred Astaire.”
Jarod Kintz, This Book is Not for Sale

  1. I needed the laughs. Thanks. Did not sleep last night and really groggy today and had some issues to face. Geezz Louise, I am ready for a smooth road for a while! At least no ice or snow today!!!

  2. Cute quotes, like that last one. Let the dust bunnies run free while you market your book. To me, book marketing is something of a mystery, and I say this as I do quite a lot of it.

  4. You have NEVER, but never got nuffing.
Love the laughs (though some made me wince in rueful recognition).
    Take care of yourself.

  6. Well, seeing as you had nothing, you've done very well in giving us a big smile! I had never heard of dust bunnies before I heard it from my American friends. But, then, you ARE a funny lot!! LOL!!! Love the pretty background on your blog by the way. It is so important to smile and have a good laugh, even at ourselves! Hugs.

    1. Hi Diane! Thank you...you're such a sweetie! That's interesting about "dust bunnies" not being familiar to you until you met us wacky Americans! I'm glad you like the newer background. I just love books, as you know...LOL...and also the colors are such pretty pastels!

  9. Thanks for making me smile today! I can relate to busy - going in numerous directions lately myself. As for dust bunnies, well, I think mine are your dust bunnies' cousins. We should encourage them to have a family reunion elsewhere.

Hang in there. Have a good weekend! :)

  10. Becky, of course I think of you often. I can imagine how busy you are. I think the consideration of the marketing of a book is one of the things that discourages me from proceeding with mine. Thanks for the laughs though. Hope you chuckle a little too.

(Becky, I suspect you didn't receive my last email. Please don't worry about responding. Let the dust settle, be calm and know that I know we're connected by friendship.)

  14. Vern's hairballs mean that Spring is on the way! So think of them as cheery little warm fuzzies.

I'm pondering why you would Google the term "Auntie Acid" ... hmm. Sounds like what my kids would have called my sister back in the day ...

And I Googled Aunty Acid, because she's a lot like Maxine, and I couldn't find any Maxine that suited me!

    1. Hi Pat ~ Thanks so much. I missed seeing you, too. I AM better this evening, but still just don't feel like myself. I think I need about 5 more days, in a row, like today...weather-wise, and then I'll be back to my old self!
