* A LITTLE BOOK NEWS *

Have you read any good books lately?
What are you reading now?

Although I still need to write reviews on my blog for two books I read recently: The Flying Circus, by Susan Crandall, and for Adventures of a Chilehead: A Mini-Memoir with Recipes, by Sharon Lippincott...I did leave reviews for them on Amazon. Loved them both!

I'm currently attempting to read a couple different books, which I've never been good at, especially if I'm really involved in one particular book! I'll have to decide which one to stick with for now, finish it, and then move on...

One of those books is due to having a fantastic day at Dollar Tree a week or so ago. If you're like me, you stop there for one or two particular items and end up spending more than a couple of dollars! I bought FIVE books and they all look like they'll be great reading material. I'll post more about them soon, including the titles and cover photos!

A couple of notes about my memoir, From Pigtails to Chin Hairs: A Memoir & More...

Have you heard of The Fussy Librarian? My memoir is currently highlighted on it: $3.99 for the Kindle edition.

I'm also having a Goodreads give-away which ends October 26 Please stop by and enter if you'd like to win one of four free paperback copies of my memoir. https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/157880-from-pigtails-to-chin-hairs-a-memoir-more

  1. The Fussy Librarian is right.
    And her comments are not dissimilar to the ones I made after I read your stunning memoir.
    How is part 2 coming along...

  2. My TBR list is long and getting longer. Also, I went to the RWA conference in NY in July and shipped home a full box of freebies, and I'm barely into that stack. So many books, so little time!

  3. You've been busy! I'm just getting ready to start "Furiously Happy" by Jenny Lawson. Her first book, "Let's Pretend This Never Happened", had me howling with laughter. Hope the second does the same. (Note: Jenny uses pretty salty language, so beware).

  6. I'm in the middle of a few books right now. Yeah, I don't finish one before I pick up another one. I DO manage to finish them at some point, though. One book is called, "Live Simply. Give Generously". It's a biography about a friend of mine and her husband who lived very frugally and helped many people over the years. They spent time in Africa as Missionaries. Interesting read!
    I'm e-mailing you about your question.
    FYI: I'd love to have you follow my FREE online workshop called, "Live Your Dream Life Now" on my new blog, mybalancedlifejourney.com. Thanks! Have a fun Halloween!

  7. I love the beautiful Fall colors in your neighborhood! But then I saw this post and just had to hop down here. I LOVED the Flying Circus! I thought it was so good that I recommended it to my hubby and he read it too! I mentioned our letter writing buddy, Lynn on my blog today and hope you'll pop over for a visit! Happy Fall sweet friend. Hugs, Diane

I'm still getting quite a few spam comments that are Anonymous, so I'm trying "User with Google Accounts." If anyone tries to comment that I know, and it won't let you, send me an email, okay? Thanks so much.
