** Tea Cup Tuesday **

First of all, I'd like to welcome my newest follower -- Michaele Malta! Hello Michaele! I hope you stop by often and enjoy what you see.

It's been quite a long time since I participated in Tea Cup Tuesday. It hasn't been because of lack of interest, or not having a pretty tea cup to share. It's mostly been a problem with my time management skills, or lack there of! But not this week! I'm very pleased to join Terri of Artful Affirmations, and Martha of Martha's Favorites for Tea Cup Tuesday!

This is my newest find! I bought it last week at my favorite consignment store, Garvey Decor, in St. Peters, Missouri. I've purchased a few items there and also sold a few of mine.

At first, I didn't even realize it had a Christmasy pattern. I just loved everything about it.

Notice the scalloped edges of the saucer. Both saucer and cup have gold trim.

In this photo, I tried to show the crack in the cup. It's in the middle and goes all the way from the top to the bottom. Whoever glued it back together, did a wonderful job. It can barely be seen on the outside. In fact, I didn't even notice it, until I saw it on the inside. I haven't filled the cup with anything to see if it leaks, because I really hadn't planned on using it. I just like to look at it!

I just love the shape of the cup! I don't know the right terminology to describe the "round, poofy" areas!

The stamp says: Royal Albert, Bone China, England.
Flower of the Month Series. Set of Twelve.
"Holly" No. 12 to reveal the price I paid for this lovely cup & saucer.....$3.00!
I just looked on Ebay to see if anyone had this set, and what they were going for.
I found 16 of them, most listed under Buy it Now, with prices ranging from $8.99 to $39.99!
I'd say I got quite a wonderful bargain, wouldn't you?!

  1. That is a pretty cup, how lucky you are to have it at a great price.
I've only participated in Teacup Tuesday once. I think we have the same time management syndrome. Hah!
    Have a great week Becky!

  2. Very pretty teacup. Where do you put your treasures? I don't have a safe spot for collections, just my china cabinet and it is full. Lovely cup!

  3. I like teacups as well. I have a collection (all different) from my mom that I love.

That "poofy" area has a technical term, in the world of tea cup collectors: convalated extraneous bastion. (Just kidding. It probably does have some name, but I'm clueless. I think your "round, poofy areas" is an apt description.)

  4. Pretty cup, Becky. And it isn't just for Christmas as you could call it winter decor through February I'd say. If you don't want to drink out of it, put Christmas M and Ms in there and sit it out in a candy dish spot!

  5. Becky,

It is beautiful. I love how you took all those different views so that we could see every detail.

  6. Hello Becky :) What a great find with this sweet teacup! I'd say SCORE on that one! It will be perfect for using and displaying for the holiday season, and you can never go wrong with Royal Albert; they make some of the loveliest pieces :)

Wishing you a wonderful Tea Tuesday, warmest, Brenda

  7. I LOVE the Christmasy detail on that cup. How I would love to spend all of December drinking from it!

And the shape of the cup is so appealing.

  8. That cup is a lovely shape and pattern. I have made a mental note to join in teacup Tuesday one week as I think it's such a terrific idea, and I've been fascinated to see everyone sharing their teacup pictures.

  9. You have found a lovely cup, and for such a fab price! I love the holly print on it too.
I don't mind cracks in cups I adore. I have a few and all they do is sit and look pretty : )
I am not sure about the shape, Martha might know better than me, but I would guess at Elizabethan.
Thank you so much for sharing it with us today.

  10. Such a lovely winter pattern, very pretty!
Oh, and I'd love to see your entire tea cup collection one day :)

  11. Hi, I've never visited your blog before. I'm just coming over from Teacup Tuesday, and as I was reading your "welcome" message, I discovered that we have alot in common. I am now in my late 40's and am getting my writing bug back. (I actually wrote a 783 page romance novel when I was in my twenties (never got it published), and now that my kids are raised and my homeschooling years are done, I am getting back to writing. I've got 3 different ideas running through my mind right now.

Also, I love making note cards...and I am ADDICTED to old movies. (I'm like totally in love with Gary Cooper and William Holden).

Anyhow, you just sort of clicked with me, so I'm a new follower.

Finally, about your's beautiful. I love that kind of shape, and I don't have any like that. I think holly leaves are SO pretty..

  12. What a lovely tea cup and saucer and I really like that it is a Christmas Tea Cup!!

    So very pretty!!

  13. Hi Becky, I collect teapots, but since they are bigger than teacups, I really don't have a place to keep them. I love the Christmas design. Thanks for sharing.

  14. Oh Becky, perfect and just in time for the holidays. Susan

  15. makes me want to take up the tea drinking habit. Promise me you won't start shot glasses.
