* I WONDER *

It's been three weeks since my last I Wonder post. I don't remember why I missed the one on August 19th, but I really remember why I missed last week's.

One reason: I was busy getting things ready for the Saturday Writers meeting which was the next day. My scheduled speaker had to cancel and I scrambled for someone to take her place. Many thanks to Debbie Marshall, president of Missouri Writers Guild (MWG), who came to our rescue.

Second reason: I was dealing with what I thought was a very painful toothache. After a visit to my dentist on the 25th, and then an oral surgeon on the 26th.....neither could figure out what was wrong. I told both of them, "What can I say? I'm weird!" So, on Monday, the 29th, I saw my primary doctor and was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia. I won't go into details because I don't want to come across as whiny, but I had some really awful pain, for quite a few days. (I knew it wasn't a sinus infection, either, because I had none of the usual symptoms. I get them often enough to know!)

My I Wonder for this Friday is: I wonder how many of you have any special plans for this 3-Day Weekend?

Me? I have no special plans.
I just want to relax and write, and write and relax, etc.

Also, Welcome to my newest follower, Maryann Miller. I hope you'll stop by often and always enjoy what you read and see! Thank you!

  1. I have an art guild meeting in the morning, and then I plan to come home and get in the pool. It is wicked hot here! That's all I really have planned. Oh, maybe some reading!

Becky, did you read my reply to your comment on my post? You could have TMJ, and it can be treated!! Hope you are not in too much pain this weekend!

  2. Hi Judie! It's wicked hot here, too! Most of the pools feel like warm bath water, though...ugh!
Thank you so much for letting me know you left a comment for me on your blog. The doc could tell by talking with me, and what my symptoms were that I don't have TMJ. I wish! I know that is easier to "fix"! Thanks again and I hope you have a fabulous weekend, dahhhling!

  3. Really sorry to hear you have an ailment, Becky! Life is full of them anymore. No plans here, except to tolerate one more day of heat and wait for the cool to arrive...they promise!

Hi Alice! Thank you dahhhling! Did you recognize the funny clock on this post? Didn't we give one like it to Ryan for his H.S. graduation?!

  9. Ouch! Nothing hurts more than pain occurring in the head/mouth area. Must be because it's so close to the brain! Hope they get things under control for you.

  13. Hey K9friend! That's funny you said it that way, because another friend of mine said exactly the same thing!

Hi Janel! We don't have any storms yet, but some are supposed to be heading our way...one of these days! Did you get to B&N? What did you buy?!

Hi Carol! Oh, you're sweet. Yes, I have meds and every now and then, they make me a bit "loopier" than "normal"! :D

HI Sue! Yes, much, much better than a week ago...that's for sure!

Thanks again everyone for stopping to comment and the well wishes. I feel so fortunate to have such wonderful blog friends, both near and very far!

  14. Becky,

I'm so sorry for the pain you have to endure. My mother had Trigeminal neuralgia, and I hope your treatment options are better than hers were.

No plans for me - still nursing burns! You take care.

    Namaste..........cj
