Remember the beautiful flowers and "birthday cake" The Ronald gave me for my birthday on January 6th? I finally got around to baking that cake and he said it was delicious! (Don't worry, I'm sure I'll be having a slice or two.)
Then I took some pictures of a salt and pepper set I bought at Hobby Lobby last night. I "sort of" collect them, which means I don't have many. These just shouted at me to buy them and they were 50% off, so what could I do?! Just looking at them makes me smile from ear to ear.
Aren't they just adorable?? So cute and funny, and with beautiful spring colors! They remind me of cartoon characters from long ago.
And The Ronald and I played Scrabble this evening, which we haven't done in ages. I had all the weird letters: Q, Z, V, and Z. I trounced him, too, which hardly ever happens.☺
It was a very good evening, recapturing my bliss!

I love that Scrabble board with red letters!

So glad you reclaimed your bliss, Becky. Happy belated birthday for the 6th! I love the salt and pepper shakers. Have a wonderful yeat ahead. Hugs Jo
ReplyDeleteYes, it is the simple things that bring happiness.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Linda. Spending time doing doing simple things can bring one a great deal of pleasure...
ReplyDeleteI love Scrabble...but hubby won't play and I have no gamey friends! I should come to your house!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that you purposefully reclaim your bliss, rather than wallow in negativity.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good way to spend some time, Becky. The salt and pepper shakers are so cute! :-)
ReplyDeleteI sorta collect S&P shakers too. Those are so cute. They remind me of Fruit Loops! I love Scrabble but no one ever wants to play. We do however play every night when we are on vacation in August.
ReplyDeleteWhat a funn night
ReplyDeleteSometimes we just have to go back to the basics. Love the S&P shakers (and you knew i would), Happiness to you, Linda
ReplyDeleteOh, Scrabble! Not good at that game but it's still fun.
ReplyDeleteA whole latte fun going on over here. Love the salt and pepper shakers, they'd make every dinner a happy one :)
ReplyDeleteGreat ways to relax! And that is an eye-stopping Scrabble board. Remember how you got the "bliss" and don't let those headaches scramble the board again. Simplicity is where it's at. I'm working on this too.

Good for you Becky, for reclaiming your bliss, if only for one evening!! We should all remember to do this more often that we probably do. Sounds like a lovely evening my friend.
ReplyDeleteKudos on the Scrabble trounce :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect way to relax and reclaim your bliss. Stress migraines are horrid and a change is as good as a rest, as they say.
ReplyDeleteIs that really your scrabble board? I always wanted one like that! I used to be pretty good at scrabble, but now that I am so old and suffering with sporatic bouts of old timers, I can't remember all those really good words like quark, zarf, aglet, lepton. OMG! I just got better! It's a miracle!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better, and yes, those s & p shakers made me smile, too!

Good for you in reclaiming your bliss!
ReplyDeleteI think salt and pepper shakers are such a great collectable--so many kinds and some are so elaborate! I have a set of the most darling purple cows. They make me want to season things.
ReplyDeleteHey Everyone! Thank you all SO MUCH for taking the time to stop and comment. I apologize for being so slow to respond and for my "group" thank yous!
